What an a amazing place to go to for a Sunday Roast! Compliments to the chef/chefs and the service by the dark haired waitress didn’t catch her name and the rest of the staff! We went in on a Sunday with a party of 11 and they accommodated for us superbly. The service was top notch and the food was delicious! For the roast you have the option of either beef, lamb, pork or all three which is known as the Triple Threat - a great addition! I would highly recommend this place!
We visited the dark horse for the first time today for Sunday lunch. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were particularly nice to our two little dogs and the food was great. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who's looking for a good Sunday roast.
Had an amazing Sunday roast here today! The staff were very friendly and the food amazing! I’m gluten free and my partner vegan and they catered perfectly for both and were very reassuring. Great atmosphere every-time I’ve been here. Would recommend definitely recommend!
This is the most beautifully atmospheric pub in Bristol. It's so warm and welcoming on the inside and is a really lovely place to sit in for a drink and playing from the many board games they have. Plus this is dog friendly and I think sometimes my dogs might enjoy coming here more than I do!
Have eaten a lot of roast dinners in Bristol but this is definitely one of the best. Big portions, lots of trimmings and really friendly staff. The pub itself has a great atmosphere and I can imagine it's really cosy with the big fireplace lit. Will definitely be returning!Service: 5/5
A warm welcome, popped in on our way through for Sunday lunch. Will definitely be returning! Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Love that it's dog friendly too.
Delicious roast with absolutely ALL the trimmings! Really friendly and attentive staff and the building is like a tardis, full of surprises! Managed to book in early, and so glad we did. Definitely not your basic meat and two veg roast dinner, will be back again soon for sure.
We came in for a roast a bit late at 4pm after picking up some equipment we left the night before great space to use at the back for parties and DJs. Manager was super accommodating and squeezed in us 3 & the dog in for a roast after speaking to the kitchen. Roast was amazing, veggie and gluten free options available, couple of the staff even came out with some beef for the dog. Great service all round, great roast and a great event space. Top marks, will be back there many times in the future I'm sure
The pub is very nice with local beers , but you could not get any food when I stayed there, during the week. I went up the road to the red church which was very nice. Bit of a lively street, parking is around the back of the pub in a public carpark, with free parking 18:00 until 8:00am. You access rooms by going outside and then around the back. When the door was closed you could see the hallway through the gap in the door. The mattress was very soft if there were two of you it would be a nightmare. It is clean, and you do have your own private shower I was here on a short business trip, I would not bring the wife for the weekend, she would be a little disappointed
I'd go as far as saying one of the best roasts in Bristol. Compliments to Fab the chef she did an amazing job, very accomodating for vegans too, definitely didn't feel like an after thought. Lucy, Daisy and Matt all incredibly welcoming and hospitable. Top boozer, would roast again.Rooms: 5/5
