Superb, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful people who are committed to helping people to ride bikes that work for them and keeping bikes going in top condition. Great mechanic. Amazing range of bikes for the size of the shop.
It's simple really, if your bike needs a service or fixing, bring it to Ash at The Cycle Store. I have just had my 15 year old Boardman serviced which needed quite a lot of work doing, including replacement chain sets, cranks and some hydraulic brake components. The work was done speedily and efficiently and I was surprised at how low the final bill was, couldn't ask for anything else!
Went here recommended by a friend and since then it's been my preferred option for bike repairs and store. Very professional and kind people.
Ash is very knowledgable and recommended the right tyres for my bike. He provided some great advice for a novice rider. The team were very good in changing the tyres so quickly. Overall, a professional and great service provided and reasonably priced!

Beyond helpful. I called up on a whim to see if they had a Shimano cassette tool at a decent price to help me set up my new bike trainer, which they did. When i went to pick it up they gave great advice and when they didn’t have something else i needed, they let me borrow one of theirs. Would definitely go back and will be recommending.
Excellent, Prompt and high standard service of cycle following an accident, and at reasonable cost. And advised of work which may be needed in the future, but not in a salesman like way. Polite and pleasant staff. It's also nice to see that they have provided feedback to every comment in the reviews, some of them sadly very unreasonable, which shows they really do take time for customers. Wish you and the business success.
Fitted me in very promptly. Very pleased with the work done and the price charged. A good local independent business that deserves support and custom. Also - don't be put off by the potential wait indicated by the website - give them a call and you may be pleasantly surprised.
Ash is knowledgeable, friendly and honest. He has been in the industry for decades and it shows. Yes you can go to Evans. Halfords or online and take your chances , or shop locally and build a relationship with an enthusiast and long term bike shop owner . Some of the reviews here show a staggering lack of basic understanding and I suspect it reflects more on the posters than on the business owner. I hope this shop is there for decades more. In fact I’m heading there shortly to get a repair and browse !
Unbelievably helpful. I spoke to a gentleman on the phone today on his day off and he took the time to explain to me how to adjust my derailleur myself - he also advised if I couldn't do it I could bring it to him the next day as he was open! Top guy and very friendly
