Shorter Rochford cycles is an independant family run bicycle shop based in North London and Hertfordshire, we have been supplying quality bikes for over 50 years and producing our own fine racing bikes for the same amount of time. At Shorter Rochford we have long been involved in sponsoring some of the finest cyclists this country has produced, from the first man to beat 50 minutes for a 25-mile time trial on an out-and-back course (Alf Engers) to World 1-hour Record breaker Graeme Obree.

Always great service. I bought my bike from these guys and they have always given me honest good advice and helped me out with servicing and maintenance including helping me get my mudguards on for winter training. Would definitely recommend
If you want to purchase a decent bike that is properly set up this is the place to come. The staff are really helpful and clearly have a lot of expertise. I recently bought a road bike here and have been very impressed with the service, help and advice that has been given. The repair service is excellent as you have experts working on your bike unlike some stores.
I have always imagined that a good bike service would produce the feel of a brand new bike, but I’ve always been disappointed in that expectation…until I found these guys. Their work on my poorly looked after Cannandale did produce that feeling, and they had lots of great advice too. My go-to shop from now on.
Popped in for a new chain, he even fitted it for me whilst I waited. Now you can't ask for better service than that. So I bought some brake blocks as well. Great shop, best equipment and superb knowledge.
The rudest people ever, I’ve tried to use them twice to purchase a new bike and received such bad attitude that I’d rather go and spend my money elsewhere. They are a rip off and clearly not interested in new business. Don’t bother going there, plenty of other shops selling bikes that are much more professional and customer focused.
I have been taking my bikes for services and buying bikes from S&R for over 20 yrs. They are always busy and there are plenty of reasons for that! They know their stuff, I race triathlons, which means a TT BIKE probably unnecessary giving my level a race bike and two mountain bikes for my kids. I only look on the internet if s&r don’t have it. They constantly come up trumps, I had a certain handlebar collapse, it was over 10yrs old, the company stopped making them, s&r got me one and fitted it exactly how the old one was! They are awesome!
This is the first chance I've had to review my Kuwahara Supernova purchased in 1986, 34 years ago. From a disappointing Xmas 1985 in receiving a Raleigh Racer, my mum and dad decided that they would treat me for the following Xmas. We took a trip to your store in Woodhouse Road and i set my heart on this bmx. I couldn't believe it when my mum said that I could have it. £220! Yes... £220! The bmx cost more than a car my dad bought from the local paper! It has been cherished over the years but dumped in my garage for the past 20years. This morning my son said that he wanted to fix it up. So after an hour or so of changing the back wheel, a little bit of oil and a clean, there he was riding up and down the street with a massive grin over his face! Just goes to show that if you look after your stuff, they last! Thank you Short Rochford Cycles for making my childhood a happy one!
Messaged twice and no response regarding a service on a Specialized MTB. Same as last year, thought I try again but no change. Left adequate time before writing this review and hopefully this stops others wasting time on contacting.
Great owners and staff, the only bike shop I trust. I’ve been buying and servicing with them for 20 years. Such a shame the other store in Barnet closed.
Great local bike shop, great service good price and did a very good job on servicing my bike
