TLDR: Would give 0 stars if possible. Do not live here if you want privacy. Maintenance people and the Managers will walk into the rooms as though it is their house. Management is ridiculously rude and will claim that you are being disrespectful to them when there are any problems. Furthermore, the agency, Londonists, do not care about any complaints regarding management and will ignore any emails sent to the customer service line. The longer version of events is as follows: Despite having told the managers, that I was not comfortable having people in my room while I was not around, time and time again I would come back to my room and notice that something I had reported for maintenance had been fixed. As a girl living alone it terrified me that people could have access to my room so easily. Once, the maintenance person attempted to come in while I was showering and despite me telling him not to enter, he attempted to. I do not know if it was because he could not hear me through the door, but if someone is in the room and is not coming to the door to let you in, then it is perhaps because they do not want to let you in. The managers are also incredibly unprofessional and will often speak very disrespectfully to me. One of the managers, while I was speaking to her, very frustrated about people entering my room without my consent, basically spoke to me as if I were a child which I do not appreciate. It took the residence team a full week to give me the key to my room. While this did cause me much inconvenience, I am more annoyed by the fact that the team was not at all apologetic for the inconvenience. On the day I moved in, I tested the shower and no matter which way I turned the valve, I was only getting boiling hot water. I went down and complained to the nighttime security guard he told me he would inform the daytime guard. The daytime guard came and tested it on Sunday and told me he would inform the management. It took the management and additional two days to change the tap in my room. So effectively, I was unable to shower properly for 4 days. About a month after I moved in, my heater began to overheat my room. I went down and informed the management. It took them 2 days to do anything about it. And instead of fixing the heater or even coming to my room to check on it, they switched it off on a Friday. The management team is not around on the weekends, so for about 3 nights I froze in the cold. It was only on the following Monday, after I went down to inform them that my room was freezing cold, that the management showed some interest in fixing my problem. When they checked the temperature of my room before the heater was switched off, the temperature had reached 37 degrees Celsius. The hinges on my door were not cleaned properly before I moved in. Hence there are now grease stains on my jacket that cannot be removed. When I asked the managers for compensation, they turned around and blamed me for the grease stains, claiming student upkeep. One manager was kind enough to send the housekeeper to my room to clean the hinges. The door of the Bin Room was left open for weeks on end. This has caused a very bad stench to extend to and into the lift, so much so that when the lift lands on the third floor, I can smell the stench. The Bin Room is also infested with rats which I have seen on numerous occasions, so I believe that hygiene dictates that the door be kept closed so that the rats and other pests are not able to roam around and infest other areas. This place is not worth what you pay. Do not live here.
I would like to rate 0 star but there's no 0 rate option. It's horrible accomodation with horrible staff. The management team and staff member do not care about anything. There are way too often room access required, like at least 2 per months. Sometimes they come in without informing the tenants. So me and a friend told the reception about this but they do not care. It's like our rooms are for public, not private at all. The worst scenario was there were rats coming into my room, I told the reception, they said they will find a solution and let me know but never did. So I did not open my window for a whole month until I moved out finally. I also told my agency londonist about issues in the accomodation and they do not care as well, they kept telling me they will get back to me and never did, no compensation, no answer. On the last day of moving out, we cannot leave the luggage in the common area, I said I will come back at 2pm to collect it, but they said the tenants are not suppose to leave it here which doesn't make sense for any accomodations. Are we going to stand on the street with all the luggages and wait. No check out process was sent to me. As well with check in, only allowed to move in on weekends but no management team is working on weekends, only the securities were here but they do not know much about what they are doing and couldn't answer our questions. The garbage room is full of rats running and once saw a dead one lying in the middle of the garbage room. The management and londonist do not care about anything in the accomodation, my friend kept complaining issues and what the reception told her was she's being rude to them and and they did not fix the issue. The reception has emailed londonist regarding what they think of my friend, and londonist has sent an email to my friend as warning. The londonist does not care anything about us as the tenants. The location of the accomodation was horrible as well. It was one of the crime area, really disgusting area. Overall, a really bad experience with paying this much. The quality does not match its price.
I’ve lived at The Curve for 3 years and enjoyed every moment of it. The Curve staff have been so accommodating. Shout out to Harty and Nora for being so easy to talk! Highly recommend living here :
The worst place I've ever had the misfortune of staying in with the worst possible management on Earth. Do not make the mistake of booking it. Absolutely disgusting condition with terrible alarms that go off at ungodly hours. Neither is the room in functioning conditions. The only saving grace are the late night staff who are extremely hardworking and are forced to work in terrible conditions by the management.
As a 22 Years old student, Yugo gave me a very wonderful time so far in London. Good Size Rooms and especially near to Colleges and any necesity you might encounter.
They always have alarm and never stop it it didn’t stop for 30minuet Also they don’t care if our room is leaking this is the photo Also stranger can easily enter the building and The reception never care. And they fake the price on website but it’s actually way more expensive. Horrible place to live in planing to moving next year. Update the fire alarm issue has been sold although in Thursday morning for 30second have a test alarm
: Honest Review of The Curve Residence In my opinion, The Curve Residence is marketed in a manner that does not align with the reality of the living conditions. Throughout my stay, I encountered numerous problems that were never adequately addressed. The heating system in my room did not function properly, and the bathroom had consistent issues. Moreover, my door was broken from the moment I arrived, and despite reporting it, it was never repaired. The en-suite itself was cramped and lacked adequate space. One of the most concerning aspects of my experience was the presence of random strangers entering the residence without any affiliation to the residents. This posed a security concern and made me feel uncomfortable. Additionally, the washing machines provided were in a deplorable condition, both in terms of cleanliness and functionality. The cinema couches were also highly unsanitary, leaving much to be desired in terms of hygiene. Furthermore, the lack of air conditioning during the summer months made the entire residence unbearably hot. This was a significant inconvenience and impacted the overall comfort of living there. On a positive note, I must acknowledge the kindness of the staff members, who were always courteous. Additionally, the beds in the studio rooms were larger compared to the individual ones found in the classic en-suite rooms. In conclusion, if you decide to stay at The Curve Residence, I would recommend opting for a studio room with a kitchen. However, considering the price, it may be more advantageous to explore other accommodation options such as apartments, which could offer similar or better amenities at a similar or even lower cost. I hope this review provides valuable insights for prospective residents and encourages necessary improvements in the quality of services and cleanliness at The Curve Residence.
stayed here for a month and it has been great, the staff is quite helpful and it has useful amenities available nearby, rooms are pitch clean as well
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the curve. Overall, my experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend it to fellow students. The facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. One of the standout aspects of my stay was the exceptional service provided by Marvin, an employee at the accommodation. Marvin consistently went above and beyond to ensure that all residents had a positive experience. He was friendly, approachable, and always willing to assist with any issues or queries. His professionalism and dedication to his role were evident in the way he handled tasks efficiently and effectively.
400GBP for this place is an insult. The place looks nice on the pictures, and I have to admit that the public spaces are nice. But they are often trashed by residents, and most mornings you can see cigarettes and alcohol bottles on the floor around the building. The studio is extremely small for the price with absolutely no form of air intake or outtake, except for a window that can barely be opened due to a seal that has been put on it. The shared kitchen is constantly trashed by neighbors, and there is little permanent action that is taken against it. This has been a dissappointing stay, and I will be leaving early. Don't waste your time here, if the offer price is 400GBP, you should look somewhere else.
