I moved to this student accommodation just over 3 weeks ago and I have to say, it has impressed me so far. The rooms are very spacious and clean with bright, natural lighting. I live on the 5th floor and I have a beautiful view of central London and Canary Wharf. I can also see the Shard from my balcony. The kitchen facilities are excellent and a TV is provided. I've also been to the lower ground and the kitchens are even more luxurious than some of the rooms more higher up! I have a beautiful ensuite bathroom with a powerful shower and modern facilities. The staff are also very kind and considerate of any needs or requests you may have. They work efficiently, Monday to Friday from 9-5pm and when they leave, the student wardens are available to take over. The fire alarms are quite sensitive, so they may go off more than expected, but it's good to know that they work and they are tested on a weekly basis at a set time on a set day.
The bad: Staff are quite slow at getting stuff fixed Fire alarms quite often at night, not sure what happened to the smokers who did it Internet spotty sometimes Kitchens are always dirty To get to the entrance you have to go down a small road that is unlit, the light has not been fixed for at least 8 months Overpriced the good: Lovely area, very close to the tube, bus stops and a massive 24 hour tesco/shopping centre and a huge park and leisure centre! The biggest rooms are a good size
Really nice welcome on moving in day with lots of staff around to make things as smooth as possible. There is everything you need such as washing facilities and a reasonable sized kitchen and even a nice balcony attached with a great view at night. If there are any issues the staff are always very helpful at getting things sorted out quickly and efficiently.
Terrible student accommodation. Reasons listed below: - Very old building that is not maintained well, it’s dirty, there are rats and there were multiple power-cuts whilst I lived there. - Staff does little to nothing when it comes to dealing with complaints however staff has now been changed, so don't know if there have been improvements since I moved out. - It’s not secure at all. There is a gate and a main door that open with a fob, however, people have jumped over the fence and the main door is often left open i.e anyone can easily get it. No security guard, no staff members on site past 5pm and weekends. - If anything happens past 5pm or on weekends, there is an “emergency” phone number to call but no one picks it up. Student warden also rarely picks up. - Falsely advertised entertainment, there is no pool table and there is rarely anything organised for the students to get together. The positives are not related to the building: - The area is lovely, there are docks around, there is a big shopping centre and a huge Tesco. - Very close to the station Again, there may be changes since I moved out, I hope that's case.
I am an international student and have been studying here for the last 3 years and i have stayed in Landale house for 2 years going onto the third year. If i have to call a place in London home it would have to be Landale house. extremely friendly staff and lovely location and student friendly. I would ask suggest this place to any student as other than just have a place to stay this place and there staff also give you the respect and help 24 hours around the clock one would need. :
The worst student accommodation in London, incredibly dirty, seems to have not been cleaned in years, insects everywhere, cobwebs, humidity, etc. The owners do not worry about the fulfillment of the clauses of the contract, so people do what they want, excessively expensive since if something happens after 5 in the afternoon or on weekends, there is no one to help you .
We got power cut for more than 5 times in half a year, same for the Internet.
very good service!
