Well what can I say!!!!!
I visited The Crown at Gayton recently it has always been a very popular location to me friends and family, Unfortunately not this time...
Walked in to find a deserted pub with no atmosphere and very sterile non inviting. The buffet was up to its high standard as usual, however the waitress informed me that the buffet will be finishing soon, BIG MISTAKE. 
The only saving grace to any part of my experience that day was seeing the friendly barmaid who never fails to welcome me and shows a great consideration for myself and other customers. 
Will not be returning what a shame a good local country pub has changed and not for the better.

Very disappointed...starter stilton mushrooms came deep fried and mushrooms raw inside. Chicken strips were greasy. Husband asked for blue steak no mushrooms, as they make him Ill. Steak came with mushrooms swimming in the juice from them. Sent back next steak was medium to well done.  No sauce to go with steak.  Very poor for £18.95. Service awkward and slow. Menu limited.  Bar staff terrible.  Will definitely not return.

Had a lovely meal at The Crown celebrating Mother's day. The food was excellent and the owners/staff very friendly. Will definitely be going there again.

Wow, my wife and i had a fabulous lunch today. We just turned up and was greeted by neil and seated in our own little snug. The food was excellent and we were well attended to. We will definatley return and hopefully bring our friends along too.
