We fully recommend this Inn. We attended a friend Bobby,s funeral wake there and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. They had Mermaid gin!!! And the chef made me a special plate of gluten free food as I wasn't able to feast on the main spread. Thank you for putting yourself out for me!. This Inn is lovely and we will return . X
Very welcoming. Good rates for lovely food. I stopped by due to storm and they had the beer I love and I could have the same coffee that I have at home same cafetiere and everything at half the price than in the so called "Italian coffee shops". Pop around if you can!.
A huge thank you to Natalie, Scott and their dedicated team at The Crown who played host to us, our family and friends on 20th September for a private function to celebrate the life of our dear mum. Natalie listened and offered ideas to help us achieve what we wanted for the day. Despite being in the middle of a complete kitchen refurbishment they absolutely delivered on every front, and we’re sensitive to the circumstances. The food was of high standard and plenty of it, “I would highly recommend the poppy seed and lemon cake”. The way the furniture and restaurant area plus outside decking were set up gave our group privacy, without feeling cut off. They and their team were friendly polite and attentive to us and our guests. Thank you so very much for helping to make a challenging day pleasant. We will certainly drop in for a snack or lunch any time we are in the Storrington, Pulborough area. Best wishes to you all. Carol, Sandra and Richard.
Stopped off for lunch and was really impressed. The food was delicious and has been clearly freshly prepared by their chefs no microwave food here! lovely warm welcome and excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
Went here today for a lunch. What a lovely pub, food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the pub itself is beautiful and has lovely gardens, this place clearly fits all, from business meetings to family lunches. the garden was lovley as well and parking was good : well done guys so many places do not appreciate there customers these days. Will be back when next in the area. Thank you
Met my son here for dinner last week. He had the falafel burger which he said was delicious and I had the vegetable curry which was tasty and plentiful. Service with a smile and dog friendly too. Couldn't ask for more! Thank you.
Celebrated our mum's 87th Birthday at the Crown, Lovely landlady and hubby chef were brilliant staff were very professional.. so glad we celebrated mum's birthday at the Crown...children friendly great garden, can't praise this place enough... 5 stars from me....
Anniversary of my Dad’s death today so we took flowers to him and then stopped for a quick lunch in his favourite pub. Forty years we have been frequenting and worse than the food was the lack of concern from the staff. Inedible onion skin or plastic whatever it was should not have been in the pie nor uncooked vegetables served. I am sad to see the reply to this review. The inedible onion was in the last part of the pie. I didn't mention the other customers who had to have their food re-heated because it was served cold. Clearly you have no empathy for your customers who come for an experience. Had you shown some concern I would not have felt compelled to leave a review. Usually people respond with 'I am sorry you didn't have a good time today but I do hope you will come back so that we can do better'. That is all that was needed. Fortunately the pub changes hands regularly so perhaps the next people will care more about the customers.
15 of us went here for lunch today. The staff were friendly and competent and the food was delicious. Despite undergoing major kitchen refurbishment, our food was delivered quickly, and everyone really enjoyed it.
One of my favourite pubs, staff always so welcoming and friendly. Big portions and great food. Especially in the summer when warm enough to sit in their lovely pub garden. Thank you Scott, Nat and Jay xx
