The Crofton is a great place to go for a drink and some delicious food. Mel and Brian, are passionate about cask ale and have a wide selection of beers on tap. They also offer a new, home cooked menu that features fresh, local ingredients. I recently had the pleasure of trying the Crofton's menu and it was absolutely amazing. The dish was perfectly cooked and quick to arrive. I would highly recommend The Crofton to anyone looking for a great place to go for a drink and some delicious food. Mel and Brian are wonderful hosts and the atmosphere is very welcoming. In addition to the great food and drink, The Crofton also has a great atmosphere. It's a cozy and inviting place, perfect for a casual night out with friends or family. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they're always happy to make recommendations. I would highly recommend The Crofton to anyone looking for a great place to go for a drink and some delicious food. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family.
Last minute change of venue to dine and WOW. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive but not in your face. There is an amazing set menu with lots of dishes that have been tried and tested plus a specials board. We both had the beef bourguignon from the specials board which was amazing and they even catered for our individual vegetable choices. Definitely a go to pub which has a lovely friendly locals vibe to it.
Second time eating here after friends bought us here a couple of weeks ago . We live local so decided we wanted to bring some friends here to , even though they live in Waterlooville and don't drive we did a round trip to bring them . I've had the liver both times and it was delicious..... Would definitely recommend.....
Nice atmosphere, great service, awesome beer selection! Didn't try the food, but they looked to have a mouthwatering menu. Worth a visit!
Food was fantastic although the veggie menu was quite limited. Lovely helpful staff and great place to eat. Will be definitely going back again
Food and staff are good, but felt the place needs a good clean and decorate. Menus have spillages and not wipeable. The tables and chairs need upgrading as in a poor state. It doesnt look fresh or clean. Shame really as like i say the food and staff are great.
Good food and service and very accommodating. Great value Indian food on a monday
What was supposed to be a nice meal on recommendation after a trip to Monkey Business with the grandkids turned sour with a poor welcome, ignorance from a blonde woman we found out was the landlady "she can be like that" older guy said, great service from him though. However it all fell really flat waiting for the food to come out and you notice things like the carpet is dirty, the toilets smell, the table is sticky, the menus are grubby etc. Food was hot but cheap tasting and looking when it arrived, kids left most of theirs and we left most of ours - to the point we ended up eating elsewhere later on - needs to be seriously updated not only in presentation and service but a more modernised pub menu too if it's going to survive I'd think
The food I had at the Crofton last night was really disappointing. Fish & chips straight from a packet in the freezer, no peas just a lettuce leaf and 2 bits of cucumber. My friend had a baked potato - dry, no butter with a tiny piece of over cooked chicken. I had the same meal a few years ago, the fish was freshly battered, chips were tasty and came with mushy peas.
Great place to chill. Good atmosphere, dogs and friendly people allowed, food and even a guest cider. Old Rosie in a Thatchers glass
