One of my best trips in recent memory. A glorious modern-yet-vintage hotel building, with fantastic estate gardens. The heart of the hotel is the original building of the estate, which seamlessly blends modern with classic, moving from Edwardian-style to modern wood and steel effortlessly. The pool and leisure facilities are easy to find and comprehensive. Best of all, in my opinion; the restaurant offers food to rot the socks, with friendly staff and wonderful surroundings looking out over the sunny grounds. A real experience and a great base for the likes of the Eden Project and gardens of Heligan.

Stayed in several spas before and have an eye for when they cut corners. The Cornwall most certainly doesn't! Staff were exceptional, decor was impeccable and the food was awesome (I can be a real food snob). The spa it's self was quality over quantity. Pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were all to a high standard, as was the changing rooms. There was also a gym and treatments, though I didn't explore them. We also discovered that the normal rooms all have balconies. Less useful in winter, but was still a pleasant surprise. The views over the grounds were still impressive with well thought out design. Will definitely be going back when I can!

Stayed here for a two night break with my wife and daughter. We had to change rooms as the first one had an open plan bathroom. That was done easily. The spa and gym are very well appointed. My wife enjoyed the massage. The breakfast was of a very high quality. The dinner was good, especially the fish. Overall, a good place to stay. Recommended.

Excellent location and stunning setting but definitely not luxury. The rooms need cleaning properly, cobwebs and dust everywhere and mould all over the curtains. The mattresses also need replacing, woke up every morning in pain as they are so worn out. We stayed over the Christmas period and the food just didn’t cut it!! No Christmas pudding on Christmas Day!! No roast potatoes suitable for vegetarians and ran out of veg!! The swimming pool is freezing cold and the spa treatments whilst lovely run very short. I had two 25 minute treatments back to back and I was finished both within half an hour. The games and party atmosphere for Christmas fell completely flat and there was no communication as to what was happening where. It’s a shame because it could have been so lovely. Other guests felt the same and had commented that previous years had been fab, however it’s recently been taken over and things have definitely gone down hill. Wouldn’t recommend unless improvements are made.

My friend and I went for some much needed me time and The Cornwall Hotel did not dissapoint. They even serve a vegan afternoon tea, much to my friends delight. The vegan brownie was devine! The chef did a special vegan menu for my friend for our dinner too. The room was lovely and spacious and we had a balcony. One word of warning is to be careful when you walk in the bathroom, because the tiles are really slippery! We had such a relaxing stay.
