We booked 2 months in advance, for Bank Holiday Sunday, table at 12.30. Arriving on time, it took 15 minutes before our order was taken, and then another 45 minutes for the platters to arrive. Thank goodness we had brought our own bread!nThe mixed seafood platter was fine, particularly the smoked mackerel ; the portion generous.nWe sat outside, so no atmosphere as we were buffeted by the wind.nThe concept is great, the food good; the service - a real let down.
The Company Shed, West Mersea. Excellent quality food and perfect service. Recommend pre order if you intend to have crab or lobster otherwise it's unlikely to be available for you. Otherwise or as well as! the platters are terrific. Relaxed setting and surroundings with plenty of parking options nearby. No negatives apart from lethargy after lunch which is, of course, self inflicted!
We had an excellent long lunch at the CS. Very relaxed atmosphere, great service and excellent food cooked to perfection. If you are in the area I can highly recommend the company shed and you will not be disappointed. I would also advise booking in advance as we saw many folk asking for a table but all very booked.,
Delicious food! Some of the items on the menu need to be pre-ordered e.g. tuna steak burger, but there are plenty of options to choose from. The food was fresh and very tasty! We tried some of the local white wine and it was refreshing and fruity nThey also sell some souvenirs and gifts. I got a little painted oyster souvenir, so cute
My friends and I went up to Mersea for a day trip from London and heard great things about The Company Shed. I was a little put off by some of the reviews and since going am a little confused by them. The food was fresh and delicious and the people working there were very helpful, polite and friendly. The place is small and quaint, so if you’re expecting a Nobu experience maybe head to London instead. We had a dog with us, so had to sit outside as was their policy just in case you were thinking of going there in the winter with a dog and braving it as we did! The food and service more than made up for that though. Thanks for having us!
