Friendly welcoming staff. Fire place real fire. Beautiful resteraunt bar area with light oak framed glazed area looking over stream and garden area. Delicious breakfast.Rooms: 5/5
The location of the hotel is good, walking distance to the city center. Rooms are clean and spacious, good service. I recommend.Rooms: 5/5
A beautiful place to stay in a perfect location, sadly no evening meals due to staff shortages but that did not stop us enjoying the place, as the rest of the staff were wonderful and there are some excellent places to eat in the city.Rooms: 5/5
My husband our dog met friends there. We sat in a lovely garden overlooking the duck pond. The seating was very comfortable. The staff were lovely friendly and very obliging. We had a lovely time would definitely go there again even though it was a bit pricey.
I regularly enjoy meals in the restaurant and drinks, I do along with loads of people, miss the small cosy bar that used to be open on the left hand side of entrance.Service: 5/5
We booked the hotel as a nice treat when we visited for a friend's wedding. The location is great for exploring the centre of Hereford. Staff were very friendly and they were happy to book us a taxi to and from the wedding venue. We had drinks on the terrace by the water and that was lovely as well. All this said, the room we had was away from the main hotel and was pretty small for the money. Not much room for anything other than a bed. And we were woken at 8.00 on Sunday morning by water cascading through the vent in the bathroom. This was not the time we wanted to get up after a late night, or the way we'd want to be woken up! We fully accept that these things can happen, and the lady on reception apologised and got the water mopped up in time for us to eat breakfast and go back and pack. But, considering what had happened, we'd hoped that we might have been contacted and offered some level of compensation. It did take the shine off the stay and we've not had any contact since. We waited a week to post this so as to give ample opportunity, but nothing from the owners. A shame, but we wouldn't stay again based on this experience and the lack of follow up.
Lovely meal lovely warm room we ate in the conservatory food was good serve on warm plates just how I like itHotel highlightsQuiet, Great value
Went there for Afternoon tea as a gift from family for Christmas. Lovely location sat in conservatory overlooking the River.Service: 5/5
Lovely hotel suite ours had a conservatory which was a godsend during the heatwave and a lovely cool garden sheltering between apple and rose trees. Nice luxury touches, plush bathrobes and a small fruit and nibbles hamper, plenty of hot drink choices in the room and complimentary water and milk in the mini fridge. Staff so attentive. Breakfast cooked to perfection! A special Anniversary weekend getaway! Thankyou team Castle Moat.
Rooms v comfortable and generally pleasant experience staying . Two downsides - not offering evening meals on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays although varied selection of good restaurants in vicinity and limited dedicated parking although that did not prove a problem for us in practice. Breakfasts good and imaginative. Decanter of sherry in room was a nice touch and fridge in room with milk was appreciated . Very quiet but City centre location with Castle Park almost adjacent .
