We went to the Bunch of Carrots the three of us for Sunday Lunch. My wife and myself were staying with her sister who lives not far from the restaurant/pub. We booked Lunch for 2:30 pm the place was busy when we arrived, we were shown to a table fairly quickly. Nice decor. My wife ordered the scampi chips and peas, her sister ordered the smoked haddock salmon and prawn in a Thermidor sauce with chips and peas. I ordered the carvery. 3 glasses of wine and a jug of water. The Carvery had 3 meats Pork Beef Turkey Yorkshire pudding stuffing ball a variety of vegetables roasted potatoes and boiled spuds. I had to queue up, but not for long. In that time fresh meat and vegetables kept coming out. All hot and very tasty, as I got back to the table my wife and her sister were served their food. We all enjoyed our food, and the girls also had desserts sticky toffee pudding with cream or ice cream I was too full from the Carvery. The place was still busy but well organised. Price was reasonable for the 3 of us. We will definitely be back again in the future and more of us.
We came here with the family and the dog whilst on holiday. We booked in advance as there were 6 of us. There is a nice authentic country pub atmosphere. The bar area is dog friendly and the staff were very welcoming and accomodating. We brought a birthday cake with us and the staff were happy to light it and bring it through at the appropriate time. The food is good and the portions are generous, but I did feel it was overpriced, especially got eating on a family budget. Menu selection is fairly typical pub grub. There isn't much choice or flexibility in the children's menu. Usually they have a carvery available but due to staff illness it wasn't running in time for us to order from it. Location next to a river walk is nice. I'd come here again with my wife after a long walk with the dog, but probably wouldn't come with the kids as the total price was prohibitive.
My mum found this place and let me say I will be recommending to friends! We had the Sunday Carvery and it was delicious. I am an extremely picky eater and I had the carvery with the pork and turkey. The staff were super helpful and understanding and I had a lovely meal with my mum and her partner after finishing my first year at university. The building itself is lovely too! It feels homey and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Will be coming again!
The pub we were aiming for was unexpectedly closed so we came here instead today. So glad we did! They found us a lovely table despite being super busy and even allowed our doggy in. All super friendly staff even though they were run off their feet. Short que for carvery which was delicious. My youngest dropped his plate and the staff couldn't have been nicer about it and sorted him out with another. The lemon meringue pie was the biggest dessert I've ever seen!! We're all in a food coma now.
Great country pub that’s dog friendly too. Finding a dog friendly pub has been surprisingly difficult in this area. They allow dogs inside, and serve a great roast carvery even on a Friday. Friendly staff who are happy to serve even if you get your food order in just before their food cut off time. Highly recommend a visit!Pictured: Beef roast carvery
Lovely setting, handy for a nice walk along the Wye before eating. Selection of spirits was average but a good set of 6 options for red and white wines. Beer and cider choices were the usual suspects. I'm not into carvery but it was nice.
Had lovely steak and ale pie for hubby and fish and chips for me. Both were tasty. The dessert I had was bland and too much gelatine was used to set it as it was like rubber. His apple pie and custard was excellent so maybe I should have had that!!!
Carvery was excellent. Generous portions, beef cooked to perfection! Lovely staff, very welcoming Best to book as it's popular, plenty of parking. Nearby are riverside walks.
Booking recommended very busy. Fresh cooked food with a good varied menu. Outdoor seating with parasols. Good Covid restrictions in place and are able to use toilets if needed. Dogs were allowed, but no water bowls out on a really hot day so not sure if its usually a dog friendly pub or just because it was outside eating the day we went.
Great atmosphere, the staff were lovely and attentive. We all chose the carvery which we all agreed was probably the best we'd had. Well worth a visit.
