The volunteer Inn is one of my favourite pubs in Hereford. Came in here after the remembrance Sunday parade. Had a wonderful lunch washed down with a couple of pints of Guinness. Staff were fantastic as usual within a small pub atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and get a Sunday lunch hereFood: 5/5
What has happened to this wonderful pub? Now open weekends only from mid afternoon except on Sundays. Availability of beers, food, and warm atmosphere all now unpredictable. Please do something to restore this exceptionally warm and friendly pub to it's treasured place in the community.
this once great pub has to decide what its going to be. we turned up this afternoon to watch the rugby and the place was cramed with diners. we was disapointed that no area had been set aside for those of us that want to have a pint. a real shame but i guess it reflects the industry.
Good Sunday lunch, good mixture of veg, staff very pleasant and helpful. Guinness was great, well poured. Wine good too
Nice independent pub, great atmosphere. Really really good roast dinners on a Sunday! Great place to meet up with friends.
Small portions I recommend avoiding this place on Sundays beacuse there is only roast dinners! Edit: Not sure what i was thinking when i wrote this i think i was having a bad day
Gorgeous food. Friendly staff. Fantastic atmosphere. Never had a bad visit.
Update. Pub has gone down hill since new owners have taken over. Sooner they sell up the better. Opening times changed, no play area for children, food menu lacking. Local pub that has bard most of the locals. Shame really.
Food and drink is nice but a very basic menu
Friendly locals pub. Stopped off on a walk around Hereford. Had Sunday lunch which had good reviews from others - but we were a little disappointed: roasties were overdone and dry, and the fresh veg was rather lacking and a bit tasteless. We both had the lamb which was delicious but cost a few ££'s more.
