Would not recommend - a health hazard! Stayed her last night with my family - looks like the leaky sewage from the review 5 months ago has not been fixed note to owner - duck tape and cable ties are not sufficient to fix a waste pipe. The room was grubby and had clearly not been cleaned. The sheets were clean but that was about it! If that wasn’t enough we could hear everything going on in the pub above and were kept awake until 3am on a weeknight. Basically - terrible nights sleep, do not recommend - especially if you have kids as it’s just not sanitary.
Stayed here for 1 night as a stop off between portmeirion and Bridgend. The room suited our requirement and the bed was comfortable. The television had complementary Netflix, so that was nice. We stayed in room humber 1, had tea and coffee facilities, clothes rail, iron and ironing board. Spacious bathroom, had a shower cubicle, but no bath. After reading some of the reviews, unless the place has been refurbished since those, I'd say they were a bit harsh! The room was clean and tidy, but not spotless. Dust had gathered on the tops of the pictures, not been cleaned for quite some time. Also the edges of the carpet by the skirting boards need a clean, lots of dust. There is a ceiling light above the shower that is missing a part and had loads of cobwebs inside. There is no onsite restaurant as they only do fish and chips from the chip shop attached on the side, they did however recommended the pub down the road called the bridge end Inn, lovely good and atmosphere.nWe were woken about 7am by doors downstairs slamming, which was a bit of a nuisance. Overall the stay was OK, and would use again if needed.
A pub with rooms, reception at the bar. If we’d seen the TrAd reviews we wouldn’t have booked. We were allocated a room vii which was - literally - barely bigger than the bed; the only window was in the tiny shower room which has a basin the size of a breeze block and a WC made of non-fitting parts. It was a disgrace and should not be advertised. Fortunately we spotted a larger room and after some discussion nothing in the blurb said “small” we were moved there. The new room was spacious, the linen and towels were clean and fresh, but the surfaces - even the TV remote - were dirty and sticky. Serious lack of maintenance: screw missing from light switch, blind wouldn’t go down at first, then wouldn’t stay up; good shower but the door wouldn’t close; no plug in sink. Nobody there to help with breakfast, but anyway we couldn’t get away fast enough. Obviously not learned much from the reviews.
This hotel is disgusting. I had a family room booked, after checking in in the dreary insides of a dated pub I was led round the back, past leaking sewage pipes to the room.nnIt stunk of bleach, to the extent it was completely inhabitable.nnInside there was the most overwhelming smell of a cocktail of cleaning products - so much that it's still wedged in my memory. The smell was so over-powering we could not stay inside the room for more than a few mins. We spent sometime outside with the kids playing on the decrepit playing equipment whilst we sourced alternative accomodation.nnOn making other plans, collected things from the room and headed off. The hotel has not provided a refund despite suggesting at the time that they would due to the inhabitable room.nnAvoid at all costs.
Location is great, there is a supermarket and several and restaurants nearby, off street parking, and a little garden to walk the dog in. The room however could have been better; we found rubbish from previous guests in bedside drawers and the mattress was very uncomfortable. I was disappointed to see mostly carb based options for breakfast bread, cereal, jams and pre-made pastries from supermarket. It is the first hotel ever that I've been to that wouldn't provide eggs, ham and cheese to make yourself a little sandwich. Overall it's OK for one or two nights but I wouldn't stay there for longer periods, for the price there are better options out there.
