Visited for the first time but not a fan. The scruffy exterior should have put me off but the interior was also pretty scruffy, littered with empty glasses throughout and only one member of staff although she was very nice and good with customers. I was also asked twice for money in the space of 30 minutes, which I don’t expect while I’m enjoying a quiet pint. No cask ales and a limited keg selection. The food looked big on quantity but low on quality. I guess people visit here primarily for the live acts but as a pub, there are far better in the area.
Nachos too spicy and wet. We had to ask for a fork. They didn't clean the table, just picked all the previous glasses. To order food you have to go to the other side bar. Kind and nice weitress. 6 pounds 1 guiness
Great atmosphere. The choices of beer could be better, but it's alright. Fair prices and the portions were big, for small women maybe too big! I definetly recommend the bbq ribs. All in all a good place for food and drinks!
Rock music, good burgers, alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Good place for a dinner of you're hungry
Have always enjoyed going to Camden Head. A nice lively place. Recently, I along with 3 friends all male suffered gender-based discrimination from the staff, where we were refused entry due to being men. Whilst I understand the staff can refuse entry to anyone at their discretion, the practice of doing it to “get more women in bar” - as was explained to us by the bouncers - is not in keeping with gender equality principles. It is wrong and should be called out as such.
Popped by Saturday evening with friends for a few drinks and food, we had an incredible time. The bartender Jerome sorry if I spelled it wrong went above and beyond and helped us pick a few drinks which were all amazing. Amazing service and will definitely be back. Thank you once again :
Bang average pub - albeit relatively inexpensive for London. If I was a permanent resident of camden I'd give it 1 star for its inability to maintain noise levels late at night and for its 2 am bottle bin emptying antics. But thankfully I'm not.
Very delicious fish&chips, hunted breast and halloumi sandwich, I can totally recommend!!
Good vibe inside the pub and surprisingly good food. The burger is served with different kind of smokes you can choose that give a very good smoky taste to the burger. Good choice for a chill Thursday night.
...Just as you would expect a pub in Camden to be; Extraordinarily busy; Very, very loud; The smell of the toilets preceeding them. I couldn't believe they served food there too, as that in itself was hazardous. The kitchen was located above the toilets, and the toilets were above the pub, so all food was carried past those stinky toilets on route to the tables downstairs, via the tight staircase full of patrons either going to the stinky toilets, or up to the comedy club or the bar. God knows what food was served, as I wouldn't risk getting gastroenteritis. I went to the comedy club, which was situated on the top floor. Which was basically a death trap, I did feel quite uneasy about that...to the point where the host even made a joke about it, it was that apparent. If there was a fire, the safest option would, ironically, be to jump out of the window. They really stuffed us like packed sardines into what essentially looked like a 'V' shaped living room and far too many of us for that matter. If a Fire Marshal were to visit or Health and Safety inspector, they would have the place shut down immediately. The actual comedy acts were very good indeed and the ONLY reason for my 3stars, but for the previous reasons stated, I would never want to return nor recommend this place to anyone - ever!
