Old pub in the heart of Islington passage and was a hot day so easy to get a table inside. We had beer and a meal each. The food was very reasonable though a bit pricey for a non gastro pub. All good though.

This was a fun time! We decided to go to a show on the day off and found two options from Angel Comedy. One was paid and we were on the waitlist but it didn’t workout and this was the free one which was great! You get to the pub, they write a number on your hand, and when it’s go time you all make your way upstairs and grab a seat quick!. There were 7 comedians, a mix of new and experienced, with a break in the middle. They do ask for tips in the end when you’re making your way down and out and it’s well-deserved! Definitely recommend.
I was SO pleasantly surprised by the comedy club at Camden Head! My husband and I went and the comedians were hilarious, the host was also fantastic. It was a great format and setting, we'll definitely be back!
Fun place to hangout for the night! They do ask for payment at the end but it’s a pay-as-you-feel type service. They suggest 15€, but you pay what you can. On a Saturday night you get about 4 acts, not including the host who is funny! The drinks downstairs do not contribute to the show. Make sure to get there early to get a number and then to also queue up for a good seat. :
Was attracted by their website advertising "FREE comedy show". Had a lot of fun watching the shows with some friends. However in the end - as some others have mentioned here - we were guilt tripped into paying £15 each as a "voluntary donation" while being flanked on each side of the door by the comedy acts with a card paying device as we tried to leave the venue but couldn't leave without either paying for it - or them making us feel guilty/shamed for not paying. Not fun or nice at all, guys, and kind of dishonest really. Btw please don't answer me like you did to other reviewers, with excuses that you where unaware of this/will investigate so it doesn't happen again, blablabla - as after reading other reviews it sounds like this is simply your money making technique and it hasn't changed in years. It's a real shame.
What an awesome spot! We heard about the nightly comedy show from trip advisor and we were not disappointed! The pub has reasonable prices and the service was great. The comedy show takes place upstairs and is located in a tiny room that was jam packed with people. The comedians were great as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting the London area!
First time at this comedy night. Will be back for sure. I also recommend the food & wine at the pub before. It was busy but all the staff were very friendly and service was exceptional. Thank you :

Comedy is good and pub is great, but would prefer if tickets were paid for upfront with a clear price rather than an essentially non-optional donation system at the end of the show. Some people will be choosing to come because they can’t afford other entertainment in London for the evening, so leaves them in an awkward position
