We were close by and found there was some stand-up about to start, jumped in, and enjoyed the show, it was fun, nice and entertaining. The place is not huge, but it's perfect for a stand-up close-up session. Time for refreshments in between comedians.
Thank you to all, for a great evening. Presenter was fantastic and all three acts were hilarious in their own unique way. I must say I am pleased I booked this and I ignored the reviews about the venue being too small or the chairs being too close together. It was lovely and intimate and everyone sitting around us was super friendly and added to the enjoyment of the evening. If you are a person who enjoy's to socialise, this is a great and affordable Tuesday evening. Definitely will book again.
Comedy was great and the MC in particular excellent. No alcohol served at our show. The environment was a little odd and took place in the corner of a library type venue. Cheap plastic chairs were super flimsy, uncomfortable and far too close together.
Really good comedy and enjoyed the acts. The venue is interesting, but incredibly physically uncomfortable because the chairs were so close together that people basically had to sit sideways - everyone was complaining about it. Perhaps they could consider charging a few pounds extra and cramming fewer people in, as it was truly uncomfortable. There was also only one functioning sink, and three toilet stalls to serve the whole place male and female so the bathroom situation was problematic. That said, it was a great set and we laughed ourselves silly.
I had a fantastic evening thank you so much. The acts were incredible and although there were rowdy individuals in row 4 during the second act, the comedian handled it very well and I truly appreciate them being removed so that we could enjoy the rest of the night. 10/10 experience - will definitely be returning thank you very much for your efforts.
3 of us went for a belated birthday girls night out. Its very intimate and we were on the front row, in touching distance of the 3 acts. All very good, lots of laughs and even the compare was funny and he loves to read a review so I hope he reads this one next time I would say of you want a few drinks and you don't want to be made bankrupt then perhaps fill up somewhere else before. It's very expensive, Im mean I expect it in London, but in particular, it was an eye watering £14 for a single gin and tonic Apart from that its a great night out! ***Edit*** 19.03.24 I meant to say that the ticket price is really reasonable for the acts you get!
I visited on the 12th July with my sister and mother. During the show, my mother became quite unwell and collapsed. The staff were fantastic, from calling an abulance, to trying to place screens for her privacy. The security guard waited outside for the ambulance to arrive to ensure they got to where required as quickly as possible. They even came outside once my mum was in the ambulance to bring bottles of water for us. Thankfully mum made a full recovery after treatment at Guys and St Thomas's Hospital and was even able to get to Wimbledon for a few hours the next day. We also received an email from them to enquire after our mum and offer us complimentary tickets to another show any time in the next 12 months. Besides the medical drama, the comedy was great and the staff were helpful and friendly before the performance. The seating is fairly cramped and uncomfortable but there is plenty of time between acts to get up and stretch out. Would highly recommend but suggest you can enjoy the hospitality of the staff without having to resort to a medical emergency! :-
Went to 99 Club Sunday 21st July. There was a change of venue to O'Neils. Nothing on the ticket to advise and nothing outside to indicate that this was the PLACE. First act wasted half of his set dealing with a drunk American; she compained about the lighting!! Loud music from the stage in the next 'studio' seeped into the performance. MC was BRILLIANT and the last act was TOP NOTCH.
We came here for a comedy night. The MC, Joe, was great! There were 3 acts. Two weren’t funny but the last person, Darren, was great. It was confusing as the show was hosted in the basement of a hotel, with staked chairs on the side of the room, no stage, too much light, etc. so the vibes were a little off. However, before the event they sent lots of emails to exactly describe how to get to the location, which I appreciated.
The comedy was great. The venue was awful. Tiny chairs crammed in like sardines, rubbing shoulders with those next to you for 2 hours. The air con was broken so it was also way too hot. For 22 quid a ticket, you expect a bit better than that.
