Visited for dinner with friends and was once again blown away by the experience. The food... I could wax lyrical but let's just say it's a cut above what you might expect from any gastro pub, and incredibly well priced. The manager, Michael, is charm personified and immediately made us feel at home. The service was impeccable too, with all the food served together no awkward waiting for stray dishes to turn up and beautifully presented. To top it all the beer and wine was also first class. Really a lovely evening all round.
Popped in on the way home from Wales, pot luck, but got lucky. Don't be put off by the 'shabby chic' of the exterior - it's a lovely atmosphere. The food was really good and portions very generous. Lovely staff and service. If we were passing again we would definitely return.
Was expecting a wonderful meal with my family after reading the reviews. However portion size and quality was poor tough lamb. Service was slow but the waitress was lovely.
Amazing food. Very attentive service. Great selection of drinks. Lovely beer garden with a view over to the Welsh hills. Dog friendly.
Been here 5 times, every time was great. Frequented for lunch and dinner both in a business capacity and for personal. Food and services was second to none. Would seriously recommend whether wanting to entertain a business client or impress friends/family or future partners! They are currently undergoing a refurb reopening on the 14th September cannot wait. Booked in for the 16th. Will post a review. I am sure the experience will be spot on.
We just toured the Midlands and Wales and Calveley Arms was by far the best restaurant Pub we experienced on this trip. Its worthwile even to make extra miles to visit this excellent Pub. Ausserordentlich gutes Restaurant - das beste auf unsere England-Wales-Tour. Das Lokal ist bestens zu empfehlen.
Very good meal.excellent food and very good service. The decor is lovely modern but keep the character of the original pub
Expensive food, Badly cooked, meat was mostly inedible gristle, Sent it back but didn't receive a replacement!!! Was left hungry and £90 out of pocket, wouldn't recommend or return
