Customer service was good - gave me an option for early check it at convenience. However, the room was freezing when I had arrived, actually after the regular check-in as the windows were wide open. Reception lady seemed nice. The hotel itself is dilapidated - the bathroom tiles were cracked, physical key rather than electronic key card, furniture was stained. All minor points. Not sure if the heater was broken, couldn't manage to turn it on, but it was July so perhaps switched off from mains. There was a space heater and fan provided although I didn't notice the heater until I no longer needed it. The room eventually warmed up with the windows shut. However the bathroom floor was cold due to the tiles. Spring mattress was just about adequate, not very comfortable. My main issue was cleanliness. Under the cover was what appeared to be a dropping - in all fairness I did wonder if it was just dirt off my pants - however it did make me uneasy wondering whether there were rodents about. Under the radiators was dust, as well as the top shelf of the closet. On which there were two irons. Guessing maybe one of them didn't work? Regardless there wasn't an ironing board. There were small bits of single hairs on the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom door didn't have a lock, which seems common in hotels but this one wouldn't even shut all the way. Makes using the toilet awkward. However it was a single room so awkward situation avoided. English breakfast was an option in the morning for 7£. Sausages were lovely, bacon was too salty, mushrooms and tomatoes were clearly tinned. All that being said, if it was the cheapest option available, I would probably stay there again.
Avoid at all costs! This was the most disgusting run down junk 'hotel' I ever spent a night in. I booked a room for an entire week but I had to leave after two days because I couldn't spend another night there my room literally smelled like an old mouldy basement. Apart from the smell the pictures should speak for themselves.Service: 2/5
This place is appalling! Dirty, greasy carpets , filthy bath not sure what was in it ! . The hotel seemed to be inhabited by drunks , druggies? Thought people were breaking into our room most of the night. Although paid for breakfast left early in morning after being greeted by bare footed drunk with snot hanging from his nose . Couldn’t wait to get out. Do not go there !
Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great. Rooms could do with updating a bit Nearby activities: Headingley stadium, was handy for the otley run as well
Certainly not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in however the entire place just feels like no one cares about it? Half of the walls are 90% pollyfiller, in the morning of checkout at 11am there were still random chicken wings scattered around from someone the night before and the rooms are full of holes in the walls and ceilings. Overall this made for an unclean feeling and an uncomfortable stay.
Starting off with the good. That staff were very friendly when checking in and happily showed me to my room. The location was good and was within walking distance of everything I needed. On the bad side, this hotel is very much in need of renovations and a good clean. It was clear that only minimal cleaning was done in the room. The window was super dusty, and under/behind the bed wasn't cleaned. Paint was also flaking off the walls, and doors didn't quite fit in the door frames, leading to gaps and issues with noise. On to the things that negatively affected my stay that wernt the hotels fault. At 2am, the fire alarm went off for 30 mins due to someone smoking in the room. Also, please make sure you read the description. I didn't realise at the time of booking, it was a shared bathroom room but that one was on me.
The Butlers Hotel is outstanding ! Me and my best friend booked a twin room for a few days, to attend an event in the city centre of Leeds. The manager of the hotel was very helpful and an absolute gentlemen. The Chef's breakfast's were outstanding ! The waitresses were very polite and first class. The housekeeping team clearly work hard to keep the hotel clean and tidy. Our twin room was clean and tidy, the beds were very comfortable, we are very grateful to all who work here. Our stay was very pleasant, the hotel had everything we wished for. I would definitely stay here again.
Receptionist was good but overall the place was not. Pervasive smell of smoke despite no smoking signs. Even the towels smelt of smoke. Probably the worst though was the extremely uncomfortable bed. Pillows were either very thick and hard or totally flat and thin. Despite no heating being on the room was sweltering too.Rooms: 1/5
I like this hotel, its well worn like your favorite jumper, you just feel at home straight away! The staff, many of whom have been there for years, are friendly, helpful and welcoming! The rooms are quirky and well used but whenever I've been here they are spotlessly clean. As for the position it's 4 minutes walk into the cricket ground and up to several hours walk into Headingley depending on how many of the liquid refreshment establishments you visit!
The staff members really look after you! I loved staying here I felt like i was at home and apart of the family would be my go to place to stay when I go to Blackpool. Always happy to help and goes above and beyond! Thankyou so much for such a welcoming stay I recommend this stay to any one who visits BlackpoolRooms: 4/5
