Went in there yesterday and brought a great product , a leather balm which does a brilliant job of hydrating leather . The assistant was really helpful and took his time explaining how the balm was to be applied. First class service.
I told myself I didn't need any new shoes and I was on holiday, but who can walk past a Loake shop without at least taking a look inside?! The store is fairly new in Edinburgh having arrived I believe at the beginning of 2017, and whilst the branding is Loake, it does not belong to the Northampton company but rather a small but growing shoe business called The Brogue Trader. When I walked in, there was only one member of staff there Rob? who was serving another customer who told me that a colleague would be back soon to assist me. There was a good selection from the Loake range on display, and my eyes were drawn to a pair of Loake Chesters in mahogany. Before I went any further, I asked if it would be possible for any shoes I purchased to be sent to my home address as I had flown to Edinburgh and would have limited luggage space - there was no problem with this, and they would be courier free of charge! A short time later, the other member of staff returned and I was introduced to James. I told him what I was looking at and he took me through the fitting, including measuring my feet for the first time in about 25 years! Although I'm usually a size 10G, James felt that the Chester with its narrower F fitting would be okay and I tried on a 10 and a 9.5. The 10 was too large, and the 9.5 was almost perfect - a little tight in some places, but to be expected with a brand new shoe. I tried the 10 again but with an insole, but the 9.5 was the better fit. So, the shoes I didn't need were duly purchased! James took all of my details and explained their loyalty card - buy 6 pairs from a Brogue Trader store, and get the 7th free based on average cost of the previous 6 pairs! Absolutely stellar service, which was even more evident on my return home: a few days later my shoes were delivered, and once I removed the delivery box, the shoe box was perfectly wrapped in brown paper and tied up with string - proper old-fashioned customer service!
Another great shoe buying experience today. Always a pleasure.
Came into the Frederick Street, Edinburgh store today with my Father for an emergency pair of shoes. We're supposed to be at a wedding today and he was in desperate need of a pair of black brogues. In stepped Finlay! Friendly, engaging and knowledgeable and most importantly sorted my Father out with a lovely pair of shoes. Many thanks!
Paid a visit to The Brogue Trader in Edinburgh to shop for a nice pair of shoes. I was looked after by James and he helped me find the perfect pair of Loakes. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to his store and the experience was one I will not forget in a hurry. I would recommend anyone who is in the market for some beautiful shoes to drop in. Thanks for the excellent service, the advice, and the whiskey!
James and the guys service is second to none. What a wonderful shopping experience, and home with a gorgeous pair of black brogues.
I now better understand why my husband is well on his way to having a collection of Loake shoes. We were in Edinburgh for his birthday and he wanted to get another pair of shoes which turned into two pairs. He had previously said how much he enjoyed shopping at your store and asked me to join him; I said yes of course to spending his birthday as he pleased. The shoes are indeed well made but like all other reviews state, it's the service that makes buying and owning the shoes an exceptional experience. So much so that I tried on pairs of the women's shoes and boots. After much back and forth I decided on the boots but needed to try a size smaller to make a final decision. Unfortunately the smaller size was out of stock but they swiftly worked as a team to source another pair. Many thanks to Alex, Ryan and Robert for enjoying what they do and providing excellent customer service. I will definitely be back so please encourage the powers-that-be to expand the women's line. I'm confident in saying that your customer base would increase dramatically!
Yet again, I find myself having a wee nose around the superb quality range of shoes. Warmly greeted by Ryan who remembered myself from my last visit. Within 10mins, I had tried on new boots, fitted like a glove, purchased a new belt, cleaning products and was out the shop! Fantastic service, the quality speaks for itself and already contemplating my next purchase. Thank you Gents
Absolutely stellar. Great shop, great service, great products - currently got my second pair on order! I've been served by Ryan each time I've been in, who is always welcoming, friendly and willing to go the extra mile; he even demonstrated a leather care product on my own shoes which I didn't buy from Loake with zero pressure to buy the product.
'Feel the love' - that's what we say in our family for any emotionally invested purchase. After a tough year and to mark a significant event I considered investing in a quality pair of shoes. Online research complete, I intended only to drop in & have a look. I was greeted from the outset by Ryan informative, charming, great socks ; who made me feel right at home and walked me through the entire range with enthusiasm & intricate detail. Needless to say the customer experience was top notch from start to finish, shoes were fallen in love with and, well... there you go.
