Brilliant pub! With plenty of seating, food a bit expensive for what you receive! This pub is also linked with The George & Dragon in Tarring , Worthing.

Visited early evening, bit slow to get served, but I sense the new owners are still getting into the swing of things. The choice of food was somewhat limited and uninspiring but we ordered a couple of children's meals and two adult meals.

The meals came out around 20 minutes after ordering, and the large plates were filled with food. The food was ok, but for the price a little lower quality than we'd hoped. One of the meals came with mashed potato which tasted like it came from instant, and the veg that came alongside the food looked and tasted like it was factory processes frozen rather than fresh. Our overall impression was of a pub dinner experience like you'd have had in the late 90s.

Given the great options available down the road, I think the black horse is going to struggle without a radical rethink of the menu.

Friendly accommadating staff. We only have drinks and chips, but chips were good and food looked ok. Nice atmosphere.

Had a lovely roast to celebrate a 70th. Kids/parents/grandparents all enjoyed the food & the staff were lovely too!
