About

The Bell

Story

The Bell is an independently owned Victorian pub on the fringes of The City on Middlesex Street, the home of Petticoat Lane Market and Jack the Ripper territory. Just a stones throw away from Brick Lane, Spitalfields and Shoreditch and close to Liverpool St and Aldgate underground stations, easy to access from all over London.
The Bell well Know for its mixed crowd of Local Residents and Office Workers, but don’t mistake this for “just another city pub” because it’s far from it. Eclectically decorated and boasting 2 function rooms including a games room with pool and darts.

Serving well kept Cask Beers and a diverse selection of Lagers it also supports a decent Wine selection, offering the full list by the glass or half bottle, making it a great place to meet work colleagues and friends for a drink. Lunches are dealt with a non-fussy pub menu full of old favourites.

Open Mon-Wed 11 till 11, Thur-Fri open till 12, Saturdays are for special events like our monthly Northern Soul night and Brit-Pop Band evenings, or if you’re planning a party it’s available for private hire. Through the summer months we’re closed on Sundays but will open up for large bookings. We’ll be opening up again on Sundays when the wintery months roll in.

First visit to the Bell. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. Tried their new Thai menu and hands down, it really was the best Thai food we have eaten in London. Very reasonably priced too. Highly recommend.
Lovely Thai food. Limited beers due to lockdown, but great staff and incredible old building.
An interesting street corner pub with a variety of heads, skulls and skeletons adorning the walls of the bar, not those of regulars I suspect. Good beer and pleasant staff. Predictably busy on a Friday lunchtime but none the worse for that! Enjoyed my pint and will call again, I recommend a visit.
Decent pub. Got pretty busy and staff were a bit short with us "taking up too much space" a group of 10-15 of us, which felt weird. But service otherwise fine.
Nice pub good lager and very safe
We loved this place! My wife and I came in after doing the Jack the Ripper tour and had a great time. The bartender Dan was great and chit chatted with us the whole time even though I’m a Chelsea fan. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in London
Great pub and good beer
