Kings Stores

Story

Nestled between Liverpool Street Station and Spitalfields Market, The King's Stores is a vibrant hidden gem, with an ever changing selection of craft and cask beers, a carefully chosen wine list, and a fantastic seasonal menu to suit all tastes.

The bustling main bar is the perfect place for after work drinks and we are THE pub for all the biggest sporting action. If you're looking for something more intimate or a taste of our regularly changing menu, we have a dining room just off the main bar, bookings and walk-ins welcome. While our first floor boasts two beautiful function rooms, available for casual dining and drinks or for exclusive hire and events.

This historical pub stands firm in the rich tapestry of East London's past. It first opened under the name Hoop & Grapes in 1819 and was later rebuilt and re-named The King's Stores in 1902 as a nod to it's former function as the English Army's munitions store. The Stores (as it's affectionately known) even has it's place in Ripper lore as Mary Kelly, Jack The Ripper's last victim, fell only meters from it's door!

Came here a xmas dinner party. The food was delicious and the appetisers even more so. Staff was really kind and joyful. Would recommend to any one looking to have a pleasant night out.
Visited on Sunday for a hangover curing roast. Great athmosphere with lots of football fans watching the game. We ordered the beef roast and doughnuts to share with my partner. The food was delicious and big portions as well. They have a good selection of beers and wines but we opted for some soft drinks this time. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, they looked after us very well taking the time to have a little chat even tho it was very busy. We had such a great time and surely will be back to try the other roast options.
Fantastic place, great service and the perfect place for some classic London street drinking. Awesome selection of local beers alongside the mainstream. Definitely worth a visit.
Really busy pub, the friendly and helpful bar staff were fantastic and kept waiting to a minimum whilst never allowing the empty glasses to build-up on the tables or ledges. Whilst there I tried three different ales all of which tasted great and were well kept. Certainly a pub to return to again.
We had a meeting in the private room upstairs. Dario and the team were fantastic, food and drink provided promptly but unobtrusively. Nice pint of Guinness in the pub downstairs afterwards, looks like a great place to watch sports as well.
Cracking pub offering good ales, a nice space, and an amazing atmosphere
After three years waiting we finally managed to host our office Chrismas party I just want to say a huge thank you to the team for an amazing night, both the food and service was excellent and the rooms looked stunning! We will definitely come back next year again!
Really enjoyed our meal here last night. The pub always has a decent selection of beers and has the live sport with plenty of screens. The food was top we ended up staying after seeing how good the plates looked, chicken wings, fries and padron peppers were all great and the brownie was incredible!! With London being in tier 2, the rules within the pub have changed but the staff were fantastic! They were very attentive for customers ordering but also very good at reminding customers of the rules and enforcing them despite some challenging customer behaviour. Highly recommend the pub and made us feel safe during COVID times - massive thanks to the staff!
The pub is amazing. 10/10 cleaning, 10/10 serving, 10/10 toilets, but the bar snack is 5/10 , sausage rolls, dry and to hard to cut! But the rest 10/10 , is that place when you want to chilling or to have a pint
Top tier place, steak was cooked perfectly, staff were very helpful and upbeat. The whole place had a great vibe.
