Came across this place entirely by chance, and am rating it purely to enable me to find it again. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. 
I messed up our lunch order and they fixed it in minutes.

A great B&B with freindly staff and oodles of character. Fab menu. Pie night not to be missed. :-)

Good ample parking on site, split between two carparks front and rear. The site is in a nice leafy village, just off the M6 motorway. The building itself is very historic with hotel rooms in newer buildings to the rear and side. Good value traditional English pub food is served till 10pm, with daily specials. The bar has a large selection of drinks, including multiple guest ales.

Food was delicious! Room could have been cleaner. No night staff available after the bar closed so no one to complain to about other noisy guests. I don't blame the hotel for their guests behaviour but had there been staff around I would have changed rooms rather than having to asks the guests to keep the noise down at 2 am as I had a 4 month old baby!
