We had a 1 night stay here. The room was stunning, and spotlessly clean. The pub and restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. Food - starters were a little disappointing but mains were superb! Breakfast was enough to set us up for the day! Very nice! The staff were all lovely, but I want to give a special shout out to Amy. She greeted us upon arrival and was, quite honestly, the best advert for the business! She was so warm, friendly, and welcoming! She was also there at breakfast, with the same smile! This place is definitely worth a visit and we will be back!
Booked a table for two for lunch in person for a fornights time. Process was super easy and I was asked if it was for a special occasion, very accommodating and welcoming.nOn arrival my friend and I were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. At no point were we rushed to order. Niall the Manager came over to make sure everything was alright, nice touch.nWe were served by Amy, Grace and Erin. All were extremely professional, kind and courteous and genuinely made us feel quite at home. Service was first class from the moment we sat down.nLunch was a steak cooked exactly as I asked and shoulder of lamb, absolutely delicious, followed by sticky toffee pudding, this to was mouthwateringly delicious.nIt's expensive to dine at the Wheatsheaf, however, very, very worth it. The quality of the food far surpasses other restaurants in my opinion. From the presentation of the food to the freshness and taste was exemplary. Hats off to the chefs, worth every penny.nThe dining area itself was clean, giving a warm vibe/ambience.nI highly recommend it.
Be careful with the car park. We entered the car park and used the online pay system for use as non-customers, as advised on the signage dotted about the car park. This morning a parking charge notice has arrived through the door demanding £100 in spite of us following the signposted instructions correctly backed up by proof of payment in an email. This will be appealed however it is not a good look and leaves us not wanting to visit the car park or the establishment that the car park is attached to because of fears this would happen even if we recorded our number plate inside, as all rules were followed correctly on the signpost.
We stopped for lunch, what a treat. Absolutely beautiful interior including the toilets! the atmosphere was lovel too. We both had stake & ale pie with chips and some cheeky onion rings on the side. The food was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive ,what a pleasure! We will be back.
I took my family here for a meal as the reviews were great. I can confirm that the food was delicious and the service was very good. It's not cheap to eat here but you get quality tasty food when you pay more. Solid selection of alcoholic drinks all in all very impressed.
