Following an extensive top-to-toe refurbishment, The Bear has reopened with a fresh new look, new menus, and a clear focus on what makes a pub truly great: warm hospitality, great food, and a welcoming space where everyone feels at home.nCocktails were great as well as the wine selection and menu.nLed by Head Chef Toni Mitchell, the menu champions British suppliers and seasonal ingredients, offering comforting pub favourites alongside more elevated dishes.
We visited to try out the Bear before booking our son's wedding reception in their function space.nWhat a really nice all round experience we had . The pub, food layout and decor is very good. But the service was fantastic. Chris and the team didn't stop working and were very attentive, first class.nNeedless to say we made our booking!
What an amazing Pub! Food was amazing and Chris and his team were very lovely. Great atmosphere and lovely decor inside. Best dinner I’ve had in a long time, definitely coming back. Also love Chris’s idea of the tinned fish xx
Had an amazing Sunday here sat on the terrace in the sun! The staff were so lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The Sunday roast was outstanding, could not fault it at all, we will definitely be returning again and again, thank you so much x
Wow! Absolutely amazing family celebration meal at The Bear on a Sunday afternoon. From great booking, warm reception, our names on the chalk board for our ruby anniversary, and personal named greetings from Chris on our arrival, we were made to feel very special for the afternoon. Chris was brilliant with all ages in our party and couldn't do any more to assist us during the meal. All the team made the whole afternoon effortless and all our food was perfectly cooked. Chris was excellent organising everyone for the family photo too.nMany thanks to Chris and all the team making our celebrations even better than we had hoped for.
