Great service. Called in after being turned away from a few restaurant that said they had no tables despite a number that were empty. Asked if I could get a table. Not a problem. Ordered my food as o stood at the bar. By the time I sat down my food was ready. Freshly cooked, perfectly. Thank you for the great service.
Lovely pub with equally lovely food. Would highly recommend the Steak & Ale pie with mash and veg! Bloody delicious Maisie, the Manager no pun intended! is also lovely, friendly and interacts with her punters. We had a really good night in this pub and stopped off for a drink in the afternoon too. Relaxed atmosphere, and would highly recommend a visit if you're in Devon.
We stopped here at Lunchtime on a Saturday lunchtime in September. It looked pleasant, the seating looked appealing and staff were welcoming. The Menu seemed to have plenty of choice and there were specials on a separate menu on the wall however the prices were quite expensive but the Location probably warranted a slightly higher price? We chose two portions of dirty fries and two salads. When the food arrived it was presented nicely and the portions were large so it looked good value. Sadly it all looked better than it tasted. It was a bit, well, tasteless. The mince on the dirty fries had no flavour relying on the Jalapeño peppers to give it some bite and the chips on one portion were cold which is a school boy error. The salads both looked good but had no flavour and were very Bland. The Chicken Caesar salad in particular had enough bread croutons to feed all the seagulls on the beach, there was plenty of Chicken but it was tasteless and very dry. At £12.50 this wasn’t a cheap meal and it should have been better. The other salad had so many Olives it was impossible to eat them all . In summary the food was a let down given the prices. I hope this was just a one off and that on another day things would taste better. Sorry Guys, a bit disappointing.
Perfect little beach side pub. Fantastic food, the fish was amazing and a very large portion too. Plenty of different types of drinks to choose from.
We had a 3 course meal for 20 last night. All the meals arrived together, portions huge, staff brilliant even when dealing with 20 people who weren’t listening and most importantly the food was fab! My steak was perfectly cooked as was my husbands. Will definitely be going again.
Amazing lunch with the family today. The food was insane, I had seen pictures on social media and knew exactly what I wanted and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was brilliant and buzzing and the staff were so friendly. I would definitely recommend, a brilliant afternoon
Amazing food. The beach is great all year round. Visited in the summer and their is so much to do within the locational area. Alongside visiting in the winter where it’s super cosy and warm, serving warming dishes for all the family. They always have breath taking specials on the board…each and every dish is crafted beautifully. There ingredients are very fresh! The bar team are great! Even when it’s busy they make sure u are served quick and efficiently. Very very very very very good! dog friendly too which means you can take your dog for a walk across the beach and pop in for a cosy, warm beverage during winter or a refreshing, cold drink in during the summer.
Gorgeous, welcoming interior and very pleasant, helpful staff. Evidently set up for a very busy lunchtime. We only had drinks but we saw several meals brought out which looked really appetising. Definitely will come back.
Great pub, super food with the daily special board, they use local produce where possible. table service with friendly staff, dog friendly, very clean. Good variety of drinks including coffee, we eat/drink here whenever we are visiting exmouth
Just came to this lovely place where we had fish and chips and our two year old have fish goujons and chips. Staff were really friendly, beer and food were amazing. Highly recommended
