Really nice meal with friends. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and looks lovely. Looking forward to a drink in the garden on a summer's evening as it looked lovely all lit up. The menu seems to cover all tastes. Large drinks menu also covered all preferences. At the moment, signing up to the newsletter online gets you a complimentary pudding, so that was nice! The staff we friendly and helpful. Overall, really nice and we will be returning.
What a wonderful dining experience our party of 3 had at the Badgers Sett, yesterday, the 24th of January 2023, the restaurant itself is warm and inviting with wonderful decor and the staff were fabulous and couldn't do enough for us, especially Hannah! the food was delicious too. We will most definitely be recommending to family and friends, we will be back soon. Thank you to Hannah and Leah, for a fabulous day.
This is a great looking pub which is also dog friendly. Appreciating it is Christmas we went on the 27th straight from a walk at Bradgate park. Straight from the off I found the first 2 staff members off hand. A polite question about where the dogs could sit was met with a sharp response. When trying to order a different lady disappeared never to return leaving me talking to a very polite young guy. Ordered a chicken Caesar salad and cheese and ham open sandwich. Both were cold when they arrived and burnt in the case of the toasted cheese sandwich. If tasted like the chicken had been cooked and left to go cold waiting for someone to serve it. I suspect they get lots of footfall so don’t worry too much about the odd customer.
good place to rest after a walk in bradgate park worth stopping for lunch and drinks as we did. Interesting menu, food was good and seasoned well. I like outdoor tables in the sun. service was quick and pub looked clean and refurbished.
Flies buzzing around probably took away from what was otherwise a enjoyable meal. Camembert was good but couldn't taste the honey glaze or truffle oil. Was nothing more or less than a camembert baked in a oven. One chicken pie was stuffed with chicken the other probably had two chunks in it. The carrots were the star of the show on both plates. Decor has clearly had a upgrade since we last visited on 2017 and is very tasteful. Sadly it was a good pub meal but not a great one that has you craving a return trip.
Came here for Brunch on Saturday @ 10:40am. Excellent service. 2 Full Breakfasts & drink each ~£30. Great stop-off when walking in Bradgate Park / Beacon Hill.
Really nice food, great staff and a lovely location. Drinks and food were reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Do not eat here - Terrible Experience! I ate here today and ordered from the three course Christmas menu prawn cocktail to start and turkey dinner for main. I kid you not the prawn cocktail had 4 PRAWNS! Then the main arrived - the Turkey was dry and the rest was overcooked. The roast potatoes so much so that I couldn't cut into them with the knife I'm serious. I showed the waitress/manager and they agreed it needed to be changed. Two minutes later however she returned and said the chef was going to 'cook new roast potatoes from scratch but to carry on with the main'. No surprises that more than 25 minutes later and no new roast potatoes had arrived, despite me having the main in front of me. I highlighted this to the waitress when she cleared our plates but she just said 'I take it you won't need the new roast potatoes then'. The staff never asked if the food was okay during the meal perhaps as lots of people were also sending food back. I highlighted the problems at the end only to be told by the waitress she was sorry but it's really busy at this time of year. Not a good enough response as I was asked to pay a full bill for very poor quality overcooked and lacking food. I will never go back and recommend you avoid the food there too. Over-priced awful food - avoid!
Lovely place obviously very popular. The staff were very friendly, helpful and we really liked the decor and atmosphere. We went on a Sunday for a late lunch and the food was good nice portion size my only real gripe would be the roasted potatoes theses were more like boiled potatoes that has been rolled round in some fat for a short while, I alway think of roastise as having a lovely crunchy shell to them, these sadly didn't.... We did get there later in the afternoon but the last dish out of the kitchen should be as good as the first in my book. Ps lots of lovely gravy alway makes me happy!
First time visit to The Badger's Sett today after hearing lovely things about it and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and came out well presented. Our server, Tom, was very polite and welcoming and couldn't fault his service at all. Lovely decor as well, really nice country vibes. We will definitely be coming again.
