Lovely pub. They had a few veggie dishes on their menu, I had the veggie sausages and mash. Loved that the portions were so big!! Went on a Saturday evening and had a great atmosphere and not to forget the service was fab. Everyone who served us was super friendly! Will be going back again!
Great customer service, though one can expected this of this establishment based on its target clientele. Going further, they had helped organise the private room for our occasion and had even been able to accommodate for some extra guests. Very good general experience and atmosphere. In addition, the waitress had some good rapport/banter with the group. The food was good. It was cooked to a high standard and came out in a timely manner. There were a couple mistakes but that can be expected considering the number of us present. Only reason for not 5 stars is the price point was a little on the higher side and the few mistakes with the order. Otherwise very happy with it and will definitely revisit
Half way meeting place with a friend for brunch. First time here. Wow! Not disappointed. Lovely setting, interior, friendly, attentive staff and welcoming. Buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were delicious. Will definitely return
Didnt book a table, but they managed to find us a table. Delicious food as always. We had chicken wings, roman fries, battered halloumi, and onion rings.
I've been here 2x recently. Once for lunch during the week and on this occasion for Sunday lunch. Staff are polite and attentive...if you're going on a Sunday book your table in advance. We took a risk arriving at 5 past 12 and were told the only places available were in the bar area or snug where they have higher tables at the back. We took one of those. The table and cutlery looked clean and the area overall looked well cared for. Our drink order arrived as we'd asked we like no ice. I had a chicken-less burger while hubby had pork with crackling Sunday dinner. His plate of food was huuuge! The portions are very generous. It was all cooked very well with plenty of crackling. The vegetables were cooked nicely. The chips with my tasty burger were very nice too. All on all it was great...tbh thought the portions too generous especially for the Sunday roast and we would definitely have struggled if ordering extra sides. I had an inkling portions may be generous from the enormous jacket potato I had on my last visit If you like a hearty meal, a clean place and polite staff you'll like it here. The prices are reasonable considering the amount of food you get and the fact the food is cooked to a good standard.
I was so excited to visit The Forge Inn last night. I haven’t been for a meal there since August so a visit was WELL overdue! What I ordered: Asian Pork Belly Bites - I’ve seen so many reviews from people who have tried these and they were all so positive so I definitely wanted to try them. I’ll be honest, I’m not an experienced eater. I did not know what pork belly actually was so when I bit into it and got a mouthful of fat, it was quite a shock. My partner did inform me that pork belly is literally that though. Unfortunately, I am not someone that enjoys eating fat like that. It literally has to be cooked to a crisp for me to be able to enjoy it. The pork itself was so tender and the flavours were spot on. Unfortunately, the amount of fat spoiled it for me but it’s all a learning curve! Steak & Ale Pie - now the pie…my oh my what an experience. I’ve recently found a love for “bistro” style food and after seeing the pictures of the pies on insta, I couldn’t not try one. It’s National Pie Week after all! I was stuck between the Manchester Meat and Potato pie and the Steak and Ale pie. I asked our lovely waitress for her recommendation and she said the steak and ale was a big hit so that’s what I went for! The presentation of the meal was of such high standard. I could not wait to tuck in. The pastry of the pie was literal heaven. The filling had so much flavour and the steak was so tender. It was accompanied by mashed potato, tender stem broccoli, and a veal and red wine jus. The whole meal was such an incredible experience. Definitely a staple they should add to the menu! I love for this pub and will be coming time and time again. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing. The staff are so attentive and kind. The managers really pride themselves in what they do too which is so refreshing to see. If you haven’t been to The Forge Inn then what are you doing?!
Really nice friendly country pub, great selection of beers, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Good sized car park too. Well worth a visit.

Went on Tuesday 2 weeks ago, quite quiet which was good as it was still on lockdown. They followed all Covid rules, masks, table service & distancing. Staff was wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly & always available for us. It’s a beautiful pub with garden area, outside smoking area & free parking with disabled parking spaces. Unfortunately food was just ok.
My brothers and our wives 8 of us in total picked the Forge Inn as a halfway house between Nottingham and Towcester to meet for lunch; we had not been before. We were very impressed with the layout of the restaurant area which was on multiple levels with areas that enabled parties such as ours to effectively dine and chat without being in the midst of a large space surrounded by others. The menu had a lot of choice, there being both a lunchtime and a main menu. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive and did an excellent job of looking after us. We were all delighted with the meals and the drinks. We will definitely be coming back to the Forge Inn in the future to experience their warm hospitality again.
