Beautiful view and location. But the staff and management have zero idea about any kind of acceptable hospitality. There is also no staff with specialised skills. Every member of the staff gets busy doing everything while excelling in nothing. Overall, rather primitive communication skills and attitude. Avoid going there if you expect any sort of decent service.
Popped in for some lunch on a lovely hot sunny day, we ordered food outside to enjoy the sunshine. We ordered on the app and because I'd ordered a couple of starters as my main they came out to check they were to be brought with all the other dishes rather than before the mains. Staff were very friendly, food was hot and delicious, setting was beautiful and the inside was very nice also. Would go back.
Dropped in to this eyecatching pub after a day out in bowness, as the sun was setting. It’s very busy and difficult to get a nice balcony table but if you can, it’s worth it. Big thanks to the staff, who seemed run off their feet, great service. The draft lemonade was off when we got there but the bloke behind the bar was able to give us some bottled lemonade at no charge, which was very good of him. The building itself is gorgeous, try to have a look around while you’re there.
We celebrated a 40th birthday with a group of 20+ friends and family, spending a few hundred quid. Quite a few peoole, I noticed, left their chips, which were described all over the menu as thick-cut chips. Unfortunately, they do not properly peel them, leaving skins on every single one. Sadly, this seems to be the modern lazy way of presentation. They taste different, earthy and less appetizing. Usually, you can ask a restaurant for them to be replaced by normal traditional chips, and they would be replaced.nnAt the angel, as soon as my meal was brought, I asked for the chips to be taken away and if possible replaced. I was just told that they come with the meal. So I put them to one side. Later, a waiter asked rhetorically it turned out if everything had been OK so I complained about the chips. I was just ignored. The food is overpriced, my meal ended up being just a small burger for £15, I wasn't the only one in the group unhappy with the food, price and dismissive staff attitude.
This is a lovely pub very clean and stylish after refurbishment in the last couple of years. We always visit at least a few times each time we come to the lakes. Location is excellent with lovely views. Due to the location it is in full sun until it goes down. Very relaxed atmosphere
