Absolutely wonderful stay! The staff couldn’t have been more attentive! The room was clean & modern with one of the most comfortable beds; only reason for the 4 star was due to the size of the bathroom. With that being said, the food was gorgeous, breakfast lunch & dinner! All in all an amazing stay; a larger portion of that down to the staff! Highly recommended to all!
Popped in here for dinner after a day at River Dart Country Park with the kids. Beautiful location next to the river and a warm and welcoming pub after a long day. Fantastic food and lovely staff. Great veggie/vegan options too. Would highly recommend and would visit again! Particularly great burger.
Popped in for Sunday lunch over the bank holiday weekend. It was very busy and we were told we would have 30/45 mins wait for the food.nwe sat in the restaurant in a pleasant atmosphere having a drink, my husband was happy enough having a pint of Tribute ale, which he hasn’t been able to source in Devon recently.nIt wasn’t long before we were served an excellent beef dinner and pork dinner with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese which normally costs extra in other places, we chose a small meal. I’m so glad we did. It was a real struggle to finish.nExcellent food and a lovely clean pleasant atmosphere.nWe will definitely be coming again, with friends next time.
Stopped off for a drink after walking the local woodland. Lovely, friendly staff, great location right on the river, can imagine it would be lovely on a warm summer evening. The pub itself was lovely. Ended up having a simple brie and cheese baguette, but it was lovely served with a side salad and crisps. Would highly recommend a visit Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay but if the pub itself is anything to go by I wouldn't hesitate to book a room.
Popped in for a few drinks and food with friends. The last time we visited was around 7 years ago when we first moved to Buckfast and we did not enjoy it, but now with new management it's totally changed, it's welcoming, friendly and the food was great. Can't recommend the place more. Oh, and it's dog friendly with great views of the river Dart.
