Story

Dating back to the 19th century, this picture-postcard inn is the perfect place to stay to explore the local area. The open fires and oak beams in the restaurant and bar create a charming and relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy excellent food with quality wines or real ales.

Stopped for a meal to round off a day on our holiday.nThe meal was excellent and the service was really great.nOur waitress Emily made the whole time we were there really enjoyable.nWould recommend.
I ate here as part of a group of six, with one wheelchair user in the group. Booking a table was easy and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good quality, but there was one odd moment. Two people in the group asked for some peas to go with the broccoli served as part of a pie dish. When the meals were served, a single pea was on each plate. A strange interpretation, but it didn’t take away from the evening.
What a fantastic find. My husband booked this for one night on our way South. We wished we could stay longer. Fabulous food the Nachos were wonderful as was the katsui curry. Room was lovely and the staff were fantastic. Will definitely look for another reason for a visit.
Booked a table on the way to ferry port. Lovely staff dealt with rude customers with infinite patience who were professional and polite, a nice welcome.nFood well priced and tasty, small menu on a Sunday, and roast sold out as it was evening, but we all found something to suit.nWould happily visit again if passing by.
It's very handy for the A38 route and Dartmoor. The Inn faces on to the Totnes Road as such the window could do with upgrading to triple glazing to reduce the traffic noise. The service was great from the staff and the food fine given the price of the meals. We would stay there again as we know what room numbers to ask for.
