We live locally and have driven past here probably hundreds of times but it wasn't until today that we decided to eat here...and we are SO glad we did! You would never have known they were short staffed* as the service was really fast and the staff were really helpful and friendly. The assistant manager, Kirstie, went above and beyond to accommodate us. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was spectacular! No exaggeration!. We love a good roast but often find that the meat is dry. We had the trio of meats and they were all really succulent. The kids menu is really fab and has tons of options. I could go on and on about how good our experience was but this will become evident when we become regulars. Thank you so much for everything! This is our new favourite round here and we will be telling all our friends! *considering they were short staffed, I can honestly say that it was better that a lot of our experiences in other places that have been fully staffed!
Arrived at the Dartbridge , lunchtime on a rainy Friday to rendezvous with friends. The friends arrived and we ordered. The staff were amazing, customer focused , and very helpful. Zoe was particularly good. The food was excellent, well priced and thoroughly enjoyable. This is an eatery I would well recommend. The mussels in particular were very good. Give it a try !
Christmas day lunch. We had front sectioned-off area to ourselves and our dog - great! Quiet and personal . Love the way the dogs are looked after. Location beautiful. Service started very well but by dessert, we felt forgotten and had to ask to be served. Food over-spiced for my liking. Also some items over-cooked.
This place tried to present itself as a country hotel a number of years ago and failed. HOWEVER, it is now owned by Greene King and in all honesty the service is now far better. The staff were extremely attentive to my daughter's dietary restrictions and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this establishment for honest, down to earth quality of service, value for money and a no nonsense unpretentious menu. One of the best I've visited in a while!
Didn't have a booking the young lady was unsure and said she ask the chef's, as thought fully booked. Our meal arrived, unfortunately not the hottest. The manager I think looked to young to me said he would change. We said no, my dad's from Yorkshire lol. Waste not want not! Well I ate it all unusual for me. My dad said he knocked about £8 off bill. I'm presuming the last couple of drinks. Dad was very impressed with no alcoholic beer. I had a swig didn't taste to bad to me. Very nice, friendly, professional staff.
Called in mid evening on Sunday night on the way home having just flew into Exeter airport, it wasn't busy,the staff were busy cleaning and putting up the Christmas decorations! I have to say that the roast dinners that my wife and I had were brilliant, the staff, although busy were very attentive and polite, excellent drinks and reasonable pricing! Thoroughly recommend you visit this pub if you're in the area!
A lovely place to spend the night. The staff are very friendly and the food tasty. The only black mark is we were put in a room at the front of the building a few yards from the very busy main road and the non stop flow of traffic kept us awake most of the night double glazing was rubbish
We have stayed here for 5 night couldn’t ask for anything more it was perfect I was worried about taking my puppy with me but all the stuff we’re excellent and really helpfull definitely be back next year also are room was lovely and so was the food. you should all be very proud and if I could give more stars I would.
Great place just off A38. Very helpful staff. Good sized room with all facilities working. Quiet, good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast cooked to order and well presented. Staff pleasant & obliging. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Good food but room was well below standard that I have had on previous visits. Room was in the eaves and half was unusable due to the slope of the roof. At over six feet tall I was unable to even get to that side of the room. Don't think I will risk another visit.
