Loved it. We completely ended up here by chance on our anniversary and we loved it. The place is spacious and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, the garden is lovely and all this right next to a natural area with many activities and things to explore.

Great room fantastic food really relaxing hotel. Under floor heating mad it a little too warm for sleeping.

I stayed at the Abbey for two days and overnight at Northgate House as part of a corporate event for about 20 people. I could not fault the place in any way. Clean, tidy, perfectly helpful staff and wonderful food (not always possible when catering for larger numbers). The rooms had all the conveniences you would expect in a modern hotel including free WiFi. Yes it is part of Buckfast Abbey but I’d not hesitate to recommend it to the religious, of any denomination, and non religious alike, there is so much to look at and enjoy within the extensive Abbey grounds or one can use the place as a base for wider exploration. Finally, for anyone worried that worldly pleasures may not be freely available, the bar is well stocked, stayed open late and of course one can sample the Buckfast Tonic Wine made on site by the Monks.

Beautiful setting. On the site of Buckfast Abbey. Lovely, tasty breakfast. Comfortable, clean, modern en suite rooms. Helpful, polite staff. TV has no DVD facility.
