Three stars are my starting point always.nFood 4/5. Very rarely is the food found to be off or bruised or over ripe when taken home.nCleanliness. 5/5. Always immaculate…shame the same cant bs said for some of the customers touching the fruit etc.nPrices. 5/5. Aldi price match, as competitive as anywhere. I know because I always check.nCheckouts. 2/5. On the self scan checkouts, you will regularly find only one member of staff and a section of it closed. This leads to hold ups.nStaff. 3/5. It must be an English thing. They are either fantastic or miserable. Personally, my thoughts are do not bring your problems into a customer service oriented environment…too many do.
Went in to buy fruit & veg for a food bank and the man at the till spent a lot of time telling us how long this will take and how much effort it would be for him. He shouted to colleagues to ask them to help him, he told other customers to use a different till. It took about 8 minutes total. The customer he diverted from us was still waiting at another till after we’d left. Another l staff member told us we were buying it the wrong way and shouldn’t just take it off the shelves ?. On an unrelated matter I’ve emailed the store’s ‘charity champion’ on several occasions and never got a reply.
Level of customer service in the store is dreadful!nNot only do you have to serve yourself, but only one self service till that takes cash.nStaff do not actually seem to care at all.nA smile and apology might help.nTesco need to teach staff and management customer service.
A useful store for groceries and other stuff that can be found in this location, which is close to the river and has a coffee shop in this location too, a little bit of everything at this location with a good car park area and other supplies to be found here as well.
3 visits 23rd and 24th December. 2 x 6am and one visit at noon. All shelves stocked to the brim, plenty of tills and staff and super value on key items. Well done tesco Lewes for making Xmas food shopping a delight !!
