ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE.nnI'd heard about Tesco from a friend, and I knew I just had to see it for myself.nnIf you think you know shops small table under a tent canopy in the village marketplace with a merchant pitching his wares - then think again.nnTesco is - if you can imagine such a thing - an illuminated cave, whose ceiling you can't touch, and whose light is a more brilliant white than the sun's.nnFood and clothing items are presented along huge corridors, on floors made of polished stone. The items themselves are stacked on ledges, each ledge within easy reach, and each item with replicants of itself - oftentimes in the dozens.nnThe food is kept in long chilled cabinets made not of wood, and which retain the same freshness as an outhouse larder, or of an ice-hall. Those cabinets themselves have transparent walls through which you can view the things contained. And each individual thing is itself encased in a parcel or a box that has very small windows to offer a glimpse of the food withineth.nnNothing is rotten, and the suffocating smells you would normally expect from a meat and vegetable market are completely absent. Here - nothing smells of anything.nnI've not even mentioned the fresh bread, the pristinely dressed workers in cloaks of Byzantine blue, or the endless metal cans that keep food fine without the normal salting or smoking.nnTesco is an utterly unbelievable feat of human accomplishment. I believe we have now conquered nature entirely.
Very helpful staff. Could have a few more NON-Self serve tills open. Last visit only one with large qué of those with trollies. Bit poor. But mostly good service and great parking below the store.
Hardly ever have any meat on the shelves especially chicken! One gentleman was really helpful and confirmed something for me. One worker was breathing down my neck while I was choosing bread because she was doing a whoosh order. She gave no personal space! And the person who served us on the till was so rude , not even a hello anything was miserable! And was quite literally flinging our shopping down the bagging area! Had to bite my tongue to not tell him about himself! Little do they know my husbands mum is the area manager!
Ample parking available and access via lift or ramp. Street entry via Quay st. Decent selection of goods across the range of foods and some clothing, toys, household and health care. In store bakery and pharmacy.nLarge wide aisles and bright, spacious feel to the building. Costa also handy for a cuppa and chat.
I’ve just had the worse customer experience by a staff member I think by the name called Jo she was absolutely rude to me on the self checkout never have I experienced such dire customer service avoid this Tesco at all costs absolutely shocking behaviour. I expect better from this brand.
