They have put a stupid bloody gate in the shop and the reciept printer on the self service never works so I have to climb out of the shop half the time because the lazy staff never open a checkout to let you throughnnWhat about people who decide to leave without buying?
Popped in today 19/01 - The staff member on the end till at around 15:45 is the best advert for self-checkouts I've ever experienced. She was so disinterested in the entire transaction - no greeting or even real acknowledgement, I had to ask about scanning my Lidl+ card myself, she didn't tell me my total and after I asked for my receipt, she apathetically pulled it from the printer then just immediately let go of it for me to reach over and pick up. Low prices & even lower customer service standards at this Lidl.
I've been shopping at Lidl for lunch nearly every weekday for over 8 years, as I work close by. However, the recent installation of self-service tills has negatively impacted my shopping experience. Since I usually only buy 1 or 2 items and prefer to pay with cash, I'm now forced to use the single manned till, as the self-service tills only accept card payments. This is frustrating because I often have to wait in line behind customers doing large weekly shops.nnTo make matters worse, during my last visit, after waiting in line for a considerable time, the cashier left her station to assist a customer at the self-service tills, despite the fact they had only been waiting for a minute. I was left standing at the front of the queue, and it added to the already long wait. Overall, this new system has made the shopping experience much less convenient for quick purchases like mine.
Great produce for less than other supermarkets. Love the weekly themes German, Chinese etc. also love the fresh baked pretzels
A really solid store with all the excellent fresh produce, a good variety of quality foods and other products you come to expect. Generally very good value and highly competitive. Always make sure you check the other supermarkets every now and then to ensure you are getting the best deals. This is my preferred retailer and has been for years. Staff are always polite and friendly. Worth visiting if you don't already.
