Update 28/10/2022. Sadly, Asda have jumped onto the same bandwagon as most supermarkets and have increased their prices in most cases from 20p to £1.50 per item in just over 2 weeks. I know things are difficult, but I believe these massive increases cannot be justified. As a result, having done a price check comparison we are now only buying 20% off our weekly shop from Asda compared to 90% last week. I can buy cheaper products at the same quality from Lidl. Sorry Asda but you here's one regular shopper that will buy elsewhere, as I'm now saving £40 weekly! I get my petrol from their onsite station because it is always the cheapest in a five mile radius of my home. We had for the past 11 years used Asda for at least 90% of our weekly shop. The store has a large range of goods for the home, clothing, music and DVDs, household appliances, magazines and newspapers, greetings cards and of course food. The staff are friendly and very helpfull. Some annoyances I have are that very often stock levels are either very low or out of stock completely. Sometimes, aisles are obstructed by groups of staff members moving stock to the front of the shelves which not only makes it difficult getting down the aisle but also to goods. They would achieve more if there was one staff member in each aisle facing up!
Fobbed off yet again when I ordered designer glasses and the correct cases with brand name hard case not sent and horrible recycled green felt cases offered gave a nike case. I was told by trainee I'd only paid 80.00 so what should I expect. Glasses had fault on them aswell. I've had this 3 times now where I've had to push for correct cases. Great to save the planet and money but your soft cases are not going to save my glasses. Who's pocketing the designer glasses cases? Was told they have no control over what the glasses are sent in from the manufacturer. Absolute tosh service.
No checkouts open past 8pm, self checkout queues were just ridiculous, not impressed!! UPDATE: I only had a basket, not a trolley!! No staff around to ask apart from the very hassled lady trying to deal with everyone at self checkout. The queue for the trolley section was just as bad.
Useless home delivery service. Ordered an item which was unavailable but know for certain that a suitable substitute could have been provided, called the store and woman was really unhelpful and not even willing to do anything. Said system will not allow her to pick something else. What makes it worse, is this is not even my local store who are usually really great.
Only one checkout open with a massive queue, queues at the self service checkouts and queues at the self scan. It was only 7pm. Customer Service - Not a chance! This is the norm and it is appalling. If I did not need the shopping I would have just left my trolly and walked out.
Walking by today, noticed take away coffee 99p, so thought I'd get one to have on my walk, I am not an asda shopper. Asked an employee where it was, he pointed me in the right direction. "If your first time scan the code and have a free coffee" it said unfortunately I'm not up on scanning codes so I chose my drink Mocca paid the 99p, well it was disgusting just like warm water with a bit of flavour. I do pick up a drink from garages and shops on my walks but that is one place I will not be going to again, something was definitely missing. Sort it out Asda.
Good, got what I wanted. Not too crowded, but that may just be time of day. Good range of products, many own brand, and not always cheapest for common brand lines, but overall bill competitive with other stores.
Shelves always seem to be half empty hardly any own brand everyday items in stock. I find myself having to go to other supermarkets more and more often as asda doesn't have stock. I could understand if covid was still to blame but all other supermarkets seem to be able to keep shelves sticked.
The Sausage Rolls And the Pasty’s Were At The DVDs Section they’re Not Where There Normally Are!! The Most of The Shelves Are Completely Empty and all The Cakes And Doughnuts Shelves Are Empty Aswell
After shopping at Asda for around 20yrs I was livid this week to find all the checkouts now close at 8pm. I had a trolley full to scan !!! What is happening !!!!! The staff who were on the checkouts were helping people to self checkout. Systems kept asking for staff, bags of shopping were on the floor as the trolleys were still being emptied to scan. Had I been on my own I would have walked out leaving my £175 weekly shop, that would have made me the 4th person in 10mins to do so. My partner took over, the scanner kept asking for staff intervention Staff member Debbie stepped in and checked out the rest of the trolley. God bless her for that. I have applied for a Tesco's club card. Fuming with Asda. False economy. People matter!!!!! Open the tills!!!!!!!!! David Jones.
