The cafe at this branch of Tesco is excellent, nice food, clean, friendly staff and affordable. If I could review it separately from the actual store I would and I'd give them 4 stars. The manager was particularly friendly. However, the cafe is let down by the store. Sure it's big, sure lots of nice products, but not much to set it apart. The staff on the self checkouts are also rude. My husband is a foreign national and we went into the self checkouts the wrong way. I was trying to explain how this worked to my husband when a member of staff very rudely addressed me saying there was a queue over there. English and manners not being her strong point, I proceeded to tell her 'there was no reason to be rude, I'm a customer'. She then proceeded to backchat me mumbling and chuntering within earshot deliberately with her colleague. Whilst I appreciate the staff may not be paid high salaries, I as a customer expect to be addressed in a polite manner and not backchatted. This may seem petty, but you have to draw a line somewhere. I would happily patronise the cafe again, but not the store.
Recently, while shopping at the Tesco Stafford store, I encountered a concerning discrepancy in the labelling of avocados, which has prompted me to reassess my trust in Tesco's commitment to ethical sourcing. Upon inspecting the avocados, I discovered that although they appeared identical in packaging and barcode, the country of origin listed on one of the avocados differed from the others. This discovery has raised significant ethical concerns for me as a conscientious consumer.nnAs someone who values transparency and ethical standards in sourcing practices, I was troubled to find that one of the avocados was sourced from Israel. This revelation is particularly troubling given the current international context, including recent events in the Gaza Strip and the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.nnThe International Court of Justice's recent proceedings regarding the application of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip by Israel underscore the gravity of the situation due to the egregious violations of human rights violations and atrocities being committed against the people of Palestine, including innocent children, are deeply disturbing. In light of these events, supporting products sourced from Israel is a matter of ethical concern for many consumers, myself included.nnThis incident has shaken my confidence in Tesco's products and supply chain integrity. As a loyal customer, I expect Tesco to uphold ethical standards and ensure transparency in product labelling, particularly regarding sensitive matters such as country of origin.nnI urge Tesco to provide a thorough explanation of how this labelling discrepancy occurred and what measures are being implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future. It is essential for Tesco to take proactive steps to ensure that all products sold in its stores uphold ethical standards and accurately reflect their country of origin.nnIn conclusion, while I have been a loyal Tesco customer in the past, this incident has prompted me to reconsider my shopping choices. I eagerly await Tesco's response and reassurance that it is committed to addressing this issue and upholding the values of transparency and ethical sourcing.
Popped into here earlier today Tuesday 5th March, whilst well laid out and no complaints shopping - the gents toilets were disgusting! Obvious debris littered the floor, which appeared not to have been swept for some time, toilet seats were loose and the smell made you gag! No excuse for this - not impressed.
I payed two ten pound notes into a self service machine last week at night time, but I only received the change for ten pounds ! I informed a worker,a tall blonde woman, however she was extremely dismissive and wouldn't accept what I was saying ! She assumed that I was lying !!!nI wanted this to be investigated properly but she just walked off ! I am on benefits so I cannot arfford to give money away ! And I don't appreciate being treated as if I am a liar !
Staff smoking by the postal lockers at 12.35pm smoking in your face as you walk past - complaining moaning about working on days off and the company / bad publicity all round
