Story

We’re a tiny bakery located near Alexandra Park in north London. We started of a vision - to bake simple but delicious breads and cakes using only the healthiest materials and ingredients.

And of course the more fresh and natural, the more time consuming and complicated the process, but we think every step is worth it.

The actual process of bread baking is not that cluttered and complicated as one might think; thus the finished products does not have to have an ingredient list resembling that of a nuclear weapon.. It is much simpler and cleaner: a loaf of bread baked at our bakery generally would need one of the few kinds of flour, salt, water, sugar, butter and milk(cream). The same ingredients, different proportions, and you get all that delicious range of breads.

Our breads and pastries have no additives or artificial food ingredients. So don't be surprised when you fail to find the usual supermarket identically-tasting fresh-forever bread flavor.. Please do tell us what you thought about the taste of our breads and cakes. Notice a difference?

We use real whole egg, real unsalted butter, quality sugar and milk(cream) for making authentic good bread instead of using liquid or powdered egg, substitution shortening or margarine, artificial sweetener and flavoured material. We’re trying to use free range and organic material as much as we can.

Apart from the variety of breads and cakes, delicious and filling baguette sandwiches, morning & afternoon pastries, fragrant muffins and a freshly brewed cup of coffee, Sweet Tree Bakery is also extremely proud to present the Baumkuchen (Šakotis) or the King of Cakes, also known as the layer cake or the Tree Cake.

Following two traditions - Lithuanian and German, the chef is skillfully mastering the art of pastry making. Baumkuchen (Šakotis) is made using authentic recipes & technique. It not only requires skill, elaborate equipment, but also patience and care.. Thus we do assure that a real Baumkuchen cannot be replicated at home thus having a cake as such on your table can be considered an exceptional experience and adventure in itself.
