We camped here on pitch 24, the views were stunning over the estuary.nThe showers and toilets were very clean, hair dryer in the ladies too. Could have done with a socket to plug straighteners in but there was one in the laundry room which also has a fridge and freezer, washing machine and dryer cost £2 for use of washer and dryer.nThere are horses and Alpacas on the farm which were lovely to see.nStaff very helpful. Plus u can hire a firepit. Locally you can walk to the Smugglers pub, very friendly locals and they have live music and great food.nWill definitely recommend and return
Just left this beautiful campsite, we’re due to leave on Monday but asked to stay until Friday. Staff were really helpful we had to move pitch but didn’t mind as we were given a better one. Toilets and hot showers were just what you need. Quite windy but you are on a hill. Lovely walk to the beach for our 2 dogs around 300 meters away. Easy access to Weymouth and Portland. Buses from Tesco extra run every 20mins for £2 each way. Had a taxi into Weymouth too £9 for up to 4 passengers with Gary’s taxis. Would definitely stay again Thankyou for a lovely relaxing stay.
We camped here last weekend. Great value, fantastic clean facilities with lovely hot showers. The location with the sea views was first class. Camping fields were beautifully cut short. Plus there were Llamas!!!
How anybody can give this place 5 stars is beyond me. The only good thing is the view. All the facilities look tired and in need of an overhaul. If they have a cleaning regime it is not evident. Both toilets and showers are not very clean.nIn fact in all the time we were there we never saw anybody clean anything. There are abandoned cars standing around which gives more the impression of a scrap yard than a camp site. So, do yourself a favour, look somewhere else.
We stayed here for 2 nights in our camper van and thought the site was perfect. Beautiful views over chesil Beach. Horses and Alpacas in neighbouring fields. Dog friendly if you have one. Hard standing pitch with grass at side for awning or to just sit and relax. We had an electric hook up pitch. Site had shower blocks toilets and washing up area. Always clean and tidy I saw cleaners there several times a day. Some people have commented that dirty footprints on shower block floor. Unless there was a cleaner in there to wipe the floor after every single visit this is in avoidable. I just wore my crocs in and out. The showers them selves were always clean and there was squidgy mop on hand should you wish to clean out before entry. The camp has direct access to costal path walks and was 5 min walk to local Tesco, Pub, domino’s and subway. Also 5 minute walk to bus route that either takes you into Weymouth or into Portland. Buses were regular we caught one both ways. I loved the site and will definitely be booking up again and hopefully staying longer next time couldn’t fault it
