Were the people that gave good reviews staying in the same guest house as us? The room was adequate, the bedding was clean but didn’t fit very well. The bathroom had a toilet, sink and shower and that’s the best I can say about it. Both were very old fashioned and in desperate need of an update. We ate breakfast in the hallway which was cluttered with the family’s coats, scarfs, books etc. It was a thoroughfare for people coming and going, absolutely no privacy. It led onto the kitchen which smelt of burnt cooking fat. We had a choice of about 6 breakfast cereals which were just dumped on a table in the hallway. No choice of fruit juice or fruits. The tea was served in a cup no tea pot. Can’t comment on a cooked breakfast because we didn’t fancy one, we had bacon sandwiches to take away. The owner who greeted us wasn’t rude but she was definitely not welcoming. The girl who served breakfast was much more pleasant but she was wearing black jogging bottoms and hoodie. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because the sheets were clean and we had cornflakes for breakfast. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! I only ever give reviews if somewhere is very good or very bad!
Lovely welcoming to the guest house. The room was large but homely. Fantastic hospitality. Amazing cooked breakfast. When I went to phone for a taxi to retrieve my car, I was offered a lift to get it. I offered a tip as a way of thanks but it was not accepted so I brought flowers in a way of thanks.Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely disgusted of how the lady in charge speaks to people. I can only assume she has a problem with people of colour. We didn't even see the room as I refused to stay in a place with someone that has such a negative attitude. For the little that I did see it looked unclean and untidy. It has put me off guesthouse for life. Recommendation go somewhere else.
Very warm welcome, lovely room, lovely breakfast with excellent facilities in the communal lounge
Lovely, quaint B&B run by Tricia and Suzanna. A great place for an overnight before taking the Chunnel to Calais, or to spend a few days. Suzanna recommended The Bell for dinner an excellent suggestion, and Tricia prepared an excellent English breakfast the next morning. I left Hythe feeling well-fed, well-rested and that I had made some friends. In fact, my experience was that the nicest and friendliest people in England live in Hythe! Oh, one other thing: The garden is Tricia's project, and it's outstanding.
Quite nice a bit steep walking up the path with your luggage. Very friendly and you get a lovely cooked breakfast
Access not great from the street leading to the front door ,Not a very welcoming look to the house ,Didn’t see any signs for Covid,19 ,meet at the front door by the daughter at 2-30 in her dressing gown .we had the upstairs to ourselves,Breakfast cereals in there boxes ,no fruit or yogurts, had to arskfor serviettes, cooked breakfast good ,overall dated rooms,in a good location
Nice and clean, good breakfast and WiFi. Handy for town centre but far enough away to be quiet
