The care I have received here has been outstanding. During chemotherapy they have been kind and patient, making sure I understood what was happening and being reassuring at all times. Chemotherapy is never easy, but here was the best it could be.
There was a little wait, as expected. But once we had checked in, we got seen very quickly. I attended with my daughter 4 she fell in the bath and split her chin open. We arrived, was seen and home in an hour and a half. The staff were absolutely fantastic. My daughter is very shy but the nurses were patient with her and made her feel comfortable. The new parking system is much better. Now don't have to worry about having change with you and never knowing how long to put on the meter. A few pounds to pay in the car park is nothing compared to the amazing service you receive for free. Never a bad word to say about our NHS
I’m on holiday in Felixstowe with my wife and two days ago had a nosebleed which I couldn’t stop although I’d tried for two hours. I’m on blood thinners owing to heart surgery in July. The treatment I received in the emergency department at the hospital was excellent. All staff were very caring and considerate and the waiting time wasn’t long. They provide a wonderful professional service. I came away after two hours with the bleeding stopped and good advice how to stop it if it happened again: it hasn’t happened again. Best wishes to all David
Just a quick note / comment about Ipswich Hospital- I needed help - and every dept. I was taken to - A&E etc treated me with kindness and respect. Everyone from the young man cleaning the floors to the kind folks giving out teas and coffees etc were lovely. The nurses and doctors just don’t have enough time in the day as they work non - stop doing their very best. I’m back home now and I thank everyone that helped me get through an upsetting time. That message is from the bottom of my now working heart!!! Thank you
I have to say, I was very pleased with how my son was treated for his dislocated shoulder. He was seen quickly and proficiently. He was in alot of pain and all the staff were brilliant at calming him down and fixing him up. What an amazing team and. I was very impressed impressed during our whole visit.
My daughter was referred to MAU by the GP. We spent 7 hours being assessed and received excellent service from all the staff. Reception staff were friendly and efficient , the clinicians were excellent , professional and empathic . In such difficult times for the NHS , I am so grateful for these incredible people .
Had a laceration in my head. Had to be ambulated into Ipswich Hospital. The paramedics told my family I was totally fine and did not notice the bleeding from my head. Clearly they didn’t check properly. When got into hospital the Dr saw the blood and laceration. I got the medical help I needed luckily. I also had to wait nearly an hour for my bell to be answered. Also after a little while and becoming stable I was just left on a bed in the corridor not even covered up properly
My son 18m was admitted on a busy Monday night. His care was incredible from start to finish thankyou to everyone who sat with us spoke with us and took care of him. I'm so greatful and admire you all so much.
SpecSavers detected a cataract in my right eye in Summer of 2022 and referred my case to the NHS. Given the backlog of work as a result of Covid-19, the demand on the NHS and justified strike action, I was expecting a very long wait. My first consultation at Ipswich Hospital was in December 2022 and my cataract operation at the end of January 2023 which was remarkably quick. The staff, nurses and doctors and are courteous, efficient and caring. The operation involved no pain and less discomfort than a dental filling. My passion is the outdoors and walking, having my clear long sight restored has literally transformed my life and I now enjoy a bright three dimensional world again. I cannot thank everyone at Ipswich Hospital enough, we are truly blessed to have the NHS.
My son was in A&E with low SATS and breathing issues he was very unwell , the receptionist at A&E was just horrible . I was not allowed to stay with him . We had both tested neg He was put on a chair in a cubical really unwell after a few hours and then left for 24 hours with no food or drink . He was so unwell he didn’t call for attention and didn’t want to cause a fuss felt very weak . They admitted they forgot about him! Someone had moved his paperwork so they forgot he was in the cubical for 24 hours ! 2 days after discharge the same thing happened…Back in again struggling to breathe all night and most of the day on a chair .. this time with oxygen no sleeo and a sandwich . When I went up the ward before you get a bed it was full of chairs with people sat on them waiting.beds were full . He asked for a blanket as was cold he had shivers and they said they had none . Saturday night in A&E again Sunday waiting for a bed hours again on a chair cold no sleep . The staff on pre assessment ward were lovely but the place was overwhelmed . They were lovely but I’ve never seen such a sight . A&E I know difficult and maybe short staffed but it used to be about 3 hours wait . Twice now shocking . .. and receptionist was rude . The next time he was dropped of by another person and she got snapped at as well . Told to leave you can’t stay I know they have to filter people out . But when people are sick or scared you don’t need some woman snapping at you . The other wards were lovely Discharge is terrible he was told he could go home when paperwork was ready that evening , and it never arrived took til next evening to come . Follow on appointment was booked at asthma clinic and when he went he was still unwell they said sorry we can’t find your appointment despite having a letter. A month later no follow up nothing and still have a son who’s got bad asthma and coughing non stop . No new appointment in sight . A&E has got horrific .. 4 hours wait when your sick feels like forever but you expect it . But left alone for 24 hours with trouble breathing and nobody checking you. Because someone moved some paperwork is incompetent sorry . Shame as other departments seem to be very nice and organised and lovely staff .
