This hospital is very open and spacious in the entrance and reception areas. It doesn’t get much smaller when you walk the corridors. It looks more like an airport and doesn’t have that familiar feeling of sickness when you are there. Shops are really great too. I have been there so often this year, because of my sons ongoing health issues. I dread going but once I get there I actually feel relaxed.
Have had positive experiences on the whole, with a couple of instances of not being treated well by certain staff members following surgery but they were the minority. The staff are kind and caring but don't have the time they want to spent with patients due to NHS underfunding. The wards I've always found very clean and comfortable. I've had some fantastic consultants and surgeons here who have taken the time to really listen and investigate issues that other hospitals have ignored. The car park is a big issue however, by now I've just got used to arriving at the hospital an hour before any appointment just so I have the time to drive around looking for a space. Not enough disabled parking spaces either which adds more anxiety.
Having a toddler and being asthmatic myself, it’s meant I am unfortunately having to make a trip here more than I would like! However each time I am here I am listened to, taken seriously and treated with respect, no matter how busy it is. They are fantastic with my toddler too, as a parent you really worry but they always do so well to put me at ease and get to the root of the problem. Thank you so much to everyone at Broomfield
My 90 year old mother was admitted to Broomfield hospital on Christmas Day with cellulitis and bought home on Tuesday 3rd January. During her stay in Notley ward she was treated with care and respect by a variety of staff. The communication between the ward staff and physiotherapists before her return home was superb, making sure everything she needed was in place before her return. There is so much pressure on hospital staff for a huge variety of reasons. I want to acknowledge and thank them for their hard work and care. So much appreciated.
Referred to by my GP as a matter of urgency I attended the Bloomfield A+E with some trepidation. I could not have been more wrong although very busy in at 2.15pm out at 5.30pm following 2 consultations, blood tests with results and a CT scan. All the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Only one negative thing the doctor could not give me prescription for an outside pharmacy as there were no forms and the hospital pharmacy closed dead on 5.30pm which meant I had to return the following day. But I give them 5 stars compared to the Queens in Romford which is more like a third world country war zone.
Exceptional healthcare. Broke my hip and was taken there. Scans and diagnostics were every fact and communication was great. Surgery was next day and I had exceptional aftercare from doctors, nurses and carers. The nurses in orthopaedics are phenomenal at their job - caring, kind and attentive. The hospital is clean and welcoming. My deepest gratitude to all member of the hospital.
Went for a timed blood test today, straight in and back out. everyone was super helpful even assisting me to put my jumper right. test was completely pain free. Normally these ladies and gent are run of their feet.
Huge hospital! Parking can be a bit of a nightmare so make sure if you have to visit here for routine appointments to leave plenty of time. Not so many Disabled parking spaces in the car park, there are more located in the A&E parking upstairs. The cafes all close quite early too. One day I was there they were shut at 3pm.. I've been going here for lots of different appointments as well as a visit to a&e in may this year which led to me being hospitalised for a week.. I've never had any negative experiences so far. Surgeons, Specialists, Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists etc.. have all been really professional, helpful and friendly. Only thing I've noticed that you are not expected to wear a mask anymore.. It's always nice and clean there too.
Had to visit A&E on Sunday evening. First time since moving to Essex in 2007. Cannot express enough thanks to all the staff who were so caring and cheerful. Everything spotlessly clean and efficient is the other word which springs to mind. Thank you NHS
An excellent hospital with efficient, knowledgeable and skilled staff. However, the whole experience is let down by the car park. There aren't enough disabled spaces, many of the pay and display ticket machines are out of order and they only accept coins! No credit cards, contactless or mobile app. It's 2022 for goodness sake! I visited today with my elderly, disabled father and should have benefited from free parking with his Blue badge but as I couldn't find an available disabled space I had to pay. Thankfully I managed to find some long forgotten coins in my glovebox I last used cash in 2020 and proceeded to feed all 12 of them into the machine while I stood in torrential rain there's no shelter. Goodness knows what I'd have done if I hadn't found those coins or if one had been rejected. We made it to my Dad's appointment just in time with me looking like I'd stepped straight from the shower and my Dad's care was first class. If only the experience hadn't been soured by the dreadful car park!
