Somewhere I would try to stop at again, Maybe flying back from Luton Airport, if timings were right. A great little local boozer, brilliant real ales, I think there was a choice of 5! The locals seemed very friendly, well maybe they were laughing at my transport. The buffet food I had there during my mates wake was very good. I bet they do a great cheese and onion sandwich.
My new favourite place to go!! Managed to get in due to a cancellation, fully booked on a Thursday lunch time!! Lovely pub tucked away off the main roads, The staff were friendly, and really helpful the homemade chicken, ham & leek pie was the best ever, and ham egg and chips also up there. What a great find, will certainly be going back again and again, but he warned make sure you book in advance, you won't be disappointed if you get in!!
Great food and even better beer. Food was home cooked and portions were serious! All very good value. Really friendly greeting and great service.
Had a great night, had a darts match sorry that we won the match, thank you to all the players and the staff for a good night, food was lovely also Beer prices is expected to be on the high side, parking in the area is a bit limited also
The best meal out in years, the food is amazing, generous portions, fresh veg, homemade soup, I would give 10 out if 10, tge staff are fabulous, my friend and I were strangers in town and were made so welcome, this little gem is a must if you are looking for something different.
Booked ahead and had lunch last Friday. Excellent food, beer and service. Good value. Friendly locals. Happy with dogs. Thanks!
Brilliant little pub, friendly staff and a very nice lunch, one way system in place tables set out for distancing and all the staff wore masks, great selection of real ales well kept and changed every 144 pints according to the boss love this place, well worth a visit.
Excellent selection of well kept real ales in a traditional, cosy pub with a friendly atmosphere.
Quite simply the best pub in the area. Excellent beer, food, atmosphere and the most welcoming landlord and staff.
Whilst on a visit to the area, we found this gem of a pub in CAMRAs Good Beer Guide. We arrived lunchtime and it was very busy with food but the friendly, attentive landlord managed to accommodate us. We sat outside in the marquee but at no point did we feel isolated, he checked on us regularly, even bringing our dog some biscuits. The food was good and the beer excellently kept. Great pub and staff, excellent customer service and very dog friendly; next time we’re in the area we will definitely be heading back.
