Amazing care and dignity given to my mum when she was really ill. And when she passed on the ward, the staff were so kind, and loving to all of us and gave us plenty of time to spend with mum. They didn’t rush us, they had so much patience and we would not have got through this heartbreaking time without their support. Each and everyone of the staff from high levels down to the orderly staff played their part and were wonderful. Sadly mum passed away, but I can’t thank them enough for everything they’ve done.
I went in with gastroenteritis, feeling awful and in a lot of pain- everyone who dealt with me from start to end was kind, patient and reassuring, and kept me in the loop about next steps. Yes I had to wait longer than I'd like at the start, but it was really busy and it was clear that hospital staff were doing the best they could to get people seen. A huge thanks to the doctor's and nurses on the day - you do an amazing job in challenging circumstances!
Recently spent 2 weeks in this hospital and can say the care was fair. The meals usually weren’t what I asked for and the ward visiting times were unhelpful as it was only an hour at a time. Consultants were lovely, even if I didn’t always understand what was going on when they explained the treatment I needed. The staff also tried hard leading up to Christmas.
Having had an equine fall. I can honestly say the treatment and care from all A&E personal was amazing. However they are in need of more staff. They definitely earn every penny of their wages. You all do an amazing job and I thank you for the care you all gave me.
Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. Lack of staffing felt genuinely despairing and dangerous. Waited more than 7 hours overnight in a&e for our 9 month old baby - after being told by 111 it was urgent to get her seen - before eventually having to take her back home without a dr having even seen her. After waiting over 7 hours, we were unable to stay awake physically holding our baby on the waiting chairs, crying and rustling around. Then after hearing that “No dr even here ‘can’t get them to come down’” we made the call that we couldn’t physically continue waiting there especially with no guarantee of getting seen within the following hours. Genuine question, what’s the point in even having this hospital here? Not knocking the staff on reception who were courteous and kind. But overall how is this acceptable? £5.50 rinsed in car park also. Scum. And awaiting a penalty fine in the post for probably for being there longer than that. All after wasting 7 long hours waiting - not easy after not sleeping the previous two days also.
Very good we went to see my very poorly cousin rob in ward C4 last week. and found the hospital well run clean and they even had two people at reception to direct you to the particular ward or dept. the ward C4 was very well staffed and the nurse in charge and her staff were all super and made us welcome and were all polite. the only gripe i have is the car parking its a nightmare and definately needs improving. my cousin passed away today 22nd july but the care he received whilst in there was super and second to none.
terrible staff in the Child A&E Department. I don't think they understand what does A&E stand for. I toke my daughter to the A&E tonight at 9pm the nurse just done some basic check and give her calpol and tell us to wait. At 11pm i went to see how long do we still need to wait and been told an hour to 1 hour and 30 mins..... Again to 1 am i went asked the staff again I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT she just repeat that again and hour to 1 hour and 30 mins waiting to see doctor.
Was sent to A an E yesterday by my GP for an emergency ECG. Couldn't fault a thing, excellent treatment as soon as I walked through the door from receptionists, nurses and doctors. Had lots of test and luckily was able to come home. Thank you everyone.
I have to have my husband stay with me due to my complex needs came here in May and they were so rude and extremely arsey. Trying to put a cannula in yet couldn’t understand why my Autism couldn’t do that? Forcing themselves on me and had to walk out and leave being un treated, still unwell to this day petrified of the hospital of how they treated me. They have no understanding of complex. We’d or the fact I need my husband to stay if I have to stay in due to my needs and come up with every excuse not to allow him! Stay clear folks!!! Absolutely traumatised me and they don’t give a flying ….
Miss Gemma in A&E was very helpful and considerate of my father’s condition, she made her best work in order to make my father see the doctor as fast as she can. It’s very honouring to be a cared of as a foreigner in the uk.
