Amazing service, professional yet warming. This is not just pub grub the food is amazing and the specials are just that. The decor and ambience was lovely and felt like a nice treat. Booked already for our next visit and bringing the family along. It’s been on our doorstep for years can’t believe we have only just tried here.
3.5 stars. We visited on a Sunday at 12pm and we both ordered the lamb roast which was delicious and the staff who were on were all polite and we got served quickly. The pub itself is nicely presented inside and out and was nice and clean with a big car park as it's not somewhere you would want to walk to as it's a little out the way. I thought it was let down slightly by the portion size and selection of the veg which was a small tray of carrot, cabbage and broccoli between 2 adults. No cauliflower, parsnips, green beans or stuffing, who serves a roast without stuffing!? Annoyingly in the background the phone was constantly ringing and wasn't being answered for the hour we spent there.
Good traditional food, staff were helpful. Nice setting and plenty of parking if you drive there.
A lovely place, a car is needed as it's a bit off the beaten track, but a nice walk if you want to build up an appetite. The outside area is fantastic in the summer, and there is plenty of seating. Now for the 'Pub Grub'. It's simply delicious, really impressed with the menu, the quality, and the presentation. The staff are friendly, courteous, and, most importantly, happy. It's definitely worth a visit
We had a family gathering of 11 there last Sunday for dinner. We came over from Dublin. While the food was nice, average to be honest, it could have been hotter and slightly bigger portions. The service was a little slow too. Desserts were lovely, but disappointed that there was no tea or coffee being served to finish our meal. Overall a good experience but could do with a bit more attention to details.
Met friend for lunch. Was like walking into Santa's Grotto! Great Christmas decorations, really put us in the Christmas mood. We sat by the fire & it was lovely & warm. There was a choice of usual menu or a Christmas one. We both enjoyed our meals & the service was good. I intend to return with my partner soon.
Had a great meal at The Stanley Arms. The staff were brilliant, service with a smile and very efficient, tables cleared very quickly, they are to be commended. Food was excellent, every course was fresh and tasty, main course was served hot and very well presented. Tasted fantastic. Standard was first class. Will definitely visit again.
Four of us visited here on Saturday for lunch. Haven’t been for about ten years. Absolutely loved it. A proper pub, serving proper home cooked food. Great friendly service. No complaints whatsoever
After many years of good service then I’m afraid I won’t be visiting again. Booked a table for 7 friends for a Christmas meal at 7pm, thought it was strange that a once busy restaurant only had 3 tables of diners. Shocking service, the bill was put on our table when we were still eating our desserts, when we stated we hadn’t finished and would probably want to order more drinks we were told they wanted to “ balance the till “ ! It was only 8.45 pm! We felt we were being rushed out of the premises. Managers nowhere to be seen, leaving junior staff to deal with customers 3 days before Christmas. Do yourself a favour and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Have been here a few times over the years. Excellent menu. Great service and staff. Food is amazing. Last visit was for a wake and the buffet was excellent. Again, great service and staff on the day.
