My son's Primary School. He was there for seven years. 4-11yrs old! They have a beautiful mosaic of the Crown embedded in the outside walls of the school.
I attended this college 2019-2021 and I just want to say it was an amazing experience. At the beginning I joined because I want a change of scenery and to meet new people but I got that and more. I was part of a community family and they all accepted me with open arms. All the teachers were very helpful and would take time out of their busy schedule to make sure you were alright and to help you with anything you need. All teachers would use different teaching methods and would encourage you to think outside the box and to try your best. They also taught me to learn from my mistakes and use them to improve myself. Especially during the pandemic, St Charles did everything in their power to make sure all students were alright and safe, from calling every other day to check up on all students to still provide bursary and free school meal payments, they did everything. My experience was great, thats all, there is no other way to explain it.
As a applied science student i find the science department are very welcoming. The school work is easy to follow because of the teachers wich has actually made me love the subject even more. The students in my class are also very friendly people.
Only there for a short time which was such a pity. Beautiful school staff and management group very supportive and friendly people. Young people are respectful..If it wasn't so far for me to travel too I would apply for a permanent teaching position in a heart beat ..For me it was a good fit ..If your passionate about your subject specialism enjoy having your own autonomy to be creative knowing you have full support from your manager.. Then look out for a vacancy .. l will be ..lastly if the majority of the staff team are still there after 20 years ...What does that say...
Although St. Charles was not my first choice, I am so glad to have spent my past 3 years in this academic institution.nnWhy? Here are my personal reasons.nnThe teachers persistently provided an equal opportunity to all its pupils to produce work which they can be proud of. They demonstrated great patience and understanding of student’s circumstances whilst offering support. E.g., through additional workshops and tailored feedbacks on every assessment.nnThe ability to study a combination of an A-level and a BTEC subject has exposed me to a wide range of assessment methods, which have only served to further my confidence for future studies, especially at a university.nnThe career advisors keep students well aware of invaluable opportunities such as work experiences, work placements, summer schools, etc., through weekly “Careers Newsletters”. This particularly benefited me from securing a paid-for job opportunity to develop a website for a charity organisation and work experiences at a Barclays bank as well as at a business consultant agency to develop a prototype for a potential app.nnMoreover, their support extended to other areas such as, choosing a university course, moulding a career path, and producing a successfully Personal Statement which brought me offers from all my chosen universities.nnTo conclude, St. Charles provided me with an abundance of opportunities, with superior treatment to the one I received in secondary school and equipped me with highly admired skills such as Critical thinking and Problem solving. But most importantly St. Charles intrigued someone like me to work hard towards their qualifications, who prior to attending underestimated the importance of an adequate education.
