I want to share a good review as people are too quick to bad mouth. What a treasure of a surgery. Always polite and do their best to help you. The merger took some getting used to blall all I think but compared to my husband's surgery these are diamond!
Great service, called up randomly couldn’t fit me in but got a call back and the nurse was so lovely. Off to collect my prescription now very easy and efficient great efforts all round
Absolutely disgusting service from the Receptionist Team. This Surgery constantly hide behind COVID and will do anything they can to refuse to see their patients. It's absolutely appalling service. I would steer clear of this place.
What is the point of being registered as a patient at this doctor’s surgery when they never have any appointments available? I thought that doctors saw patients when they are ill. If I could, I would not even give them one star. The way this surgery is run is shambolic. You have to telephone from 8am to make an appointment for that day. You cannot make an appointment for another day!? In reality the phone rings and no one answers and then you are cut off. When eventually you do get through, there aren’t any appointments available. My daughter has been a patient for over 2 years and has never ever managed to see a doctor face to face. She has been told to ring 111, and when she has spoken to them they have told her to make an appointment with her GP. So she has been sent around and around in circles. This has caused her a great deal of anxiety and stress. They tell me they operate this system because of Covid….even though they were doing this before the pandemic. It seems that patients don’t always turn up when they book appointments in advance. And they would have to cancel appointments if a Doctor caught Covid. I hate it when Covid-19 is used as a excuse for bonkers bureaucracy. Fortunately this is not a nationally adopted system, as the doctor’s surgery I’m registered at do make appointments for their patients in advance. I would ask this surgery to think about how their patients feel and what their system is doing to them? How many of their patients just give up and put up with illness, until it becomes an emergency? This just can’t be right.
This surgery used to be excellent and I'm sure there are a few staff there who are still good. Sadly even after making a formal complaint that took over 2 months to even be looked into it's got worse and I'm now changing surgeries. All I can say is that if you're expecting to be treated like a human being then don't sign up here. You're treated like an unhuman all the time and they are rude The last doc I saw didn't even look me in the eye while he insulted me, the last nurse I saw took away my decisions about my health so she could score cheap points to be nasty, and trying to get an appointment for something that 111 wanted me to get sorted recently proved impossible after being told "you won't get that here", despite it being something all GPs allegedly do and being requested by 111, not even an alternative given. Shocking treatment. This is AFTER they've supposedly been given customer service training after the last complaint. Honestly I've lost all confidence in this surgery and I'm switching practices. The rest of the practices in Swindon have awful reviews too, but at least they might treat me like a sentient being rather than cattle. There is nothing good I can say about this surgery anymore.
I have recently gone through the worst time of my life with my mental health and having to change antidepressants as well. I found it all quite scary. The reception staff were good with me and I got seen by dr stewart , she was amazing I appreciated her care and understanding. I spoke to her once a week and I can’t thank her enough. Also have had a couple of calls from suman the mental health guy , I great addition to the team it’s so nice to have a specialist in that field
Think staff at reception are appalling they are rude and in helpful ! Huffing and puffing down the phone say they can't hear you but there is laughter and chatting going on in back ground Given appointments out when a simply call can sort avoid wasted appointments. Long delays in surgery when only a handful of patients waiting! Seem to take a long time answering insurance letters or when another hospital request information. I actually hate calling the surgery now only seem to have one decent memeber in reception and that's Kelly !
I've been from doctors to doctors for many things and as it happened I have ended up registering at sparcells surgery. Life with Mental health can be very difficult, and can feel traumatic to the person who's going through many different cycles. The reception staff have been incredible, they have been there and held me together when I really needed it. Nicky is fantastic and Dr Stewart has been amazing! They've listened to me, got me seen to, helped me to find help and take steps forward. They've really helped me to push for the positive and to keep moving forward a day at a time. The nurses have been super. There's nothing worse than being in a situation where you feel ashamed of yourself and the last thing you want is other people scolding you and shaming you, well I have been fortunate to have nurses take care of me who have listened as I'm falling apart uncontrollably and have picked me back up and assured me that life, will be ok. I've had letters written for professional use from the doctors there and they have been fantastic. I just can't thank them all enough. I know it gets busy, appointments may be hard to get at times, but they will always try and they are always there and they care and give respect even if they're stacked to the eyeballs with paperwork and phone calls and exploding with emails. I am so thankful to these lovely human beings that have never given up on me and many others even when they are finding their own days hard. All of the staff at this surgery are a true treasure and there are some extra special gems there too!
The girls at the front desk are always patient, friendly and helpful. They take the time to listen and do their best to accommodate. Natalie the midwife is the absolute best. Caring, knowledgeable, compassionate, personable and professional... everything that a medical professional should be. Dr. Stewart and Dr. Haining are exactly the same... professional, personable, well educated, caring... honestly this surgery is everything you could ask for in healthcare professionals and more. Thank you for all your hard work!
Receptionist hide behind a glass panel so they don't have to talk to you. Receptionist are unable to carry out simple tasks as updating a phone number!! Having worked with the same system it takes two seconds to change. It just shows how little they care for patients well being. All round rude attitude from a so called "receptionist" - good of you want to sit in the waiting room listening to what they got up to that weekend. Always long wait times, 15 minutes + behind is not uncommon. Takes usually 4 weeks for an appointment which by then could be too late for many people, especially people with mental health issues it's a joke Avoid at all costs, would rather keep you jumping through hoops and making you wait a month each time for an appointment just to have deja Vu of the previous appointment. Look for other surgeries that are much more organized than here
