We’re currently staying at the Harbour Hotel Southampton and felt compelled to leave a special mention for Alicia, who truly went above and beyond during our stay.nnWhile all of the customer service we’ve experienced has been very good, Alicia genuinely stood out. After a long and stressful five-hour drive and a rocky start to our holiday, she completely turned things around for us from the moment we arrived.nnShe noticed that we were celebrating a birthday and also took into account that my wife is heavily pregnant. With that in mind, she thoughtfully upgraded our room to one with extra space and comfortable seating, which made a huge difference for us. We loved the upgraded room so much that, purely because of this, we decided to stay an extra night — something we hadn’t originally planned.nnWhen we tried to book the additional night but couldn’t get through by phone, Alicia didn’t hesitate to come up to our room herself, knock on the door, and personally sort everything out for us. That level of initiative and care made us feel genuinely valued as guests.nnEven the smaller gestures didn’t go unnoticed. One evening we just wanted to relax, so we ordered a takeaway. Another member of staff had mentioned we could collect plates from the restaurant, but when Alicia saw us heading out to do that, she insisted on getting the plates for us herself so we didn’t have to. It was such a simple thing, but incredibly thoughtful.nnAlicia’s kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile completely changed our experience and turned a difficult start into a truly memorable stay. She is a real credit to the hotel, and we’re incredibly grateful to her for making our time here extra special.nnThank you, Alicia — you made our stay. We will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel.
What a lovely experience at the Harbour Hotel! We stayed one night in a beautifully decorated 3rd floor room, overlooking the Ocean Village harbour. The bed looked so inviting, I wanted to jump straight in, but instead had a delightful, complimentary G&T, then popped on our robes and slippers and headed to HarSPA for a quick dip in the pool and a soak in the hottub. After sprucing up, we had dinner in HarBAR on 6th, which was nothing short of delicious. Great service from Josh and since we had a table by the window, we we're able to enjoy the view with twinkling lights across the water. The cocktail menu had some very tempting Mermain Gin based offerings, so we finished up with a cocktail before heading back to the room.nBack to the bed! It was like snuggling up in a soft, fluffy, comforting cloud! Dreamy! Such a good night's sleep! And feeling relaxed and well rested, we went back to HarBAR for a delicious cooked breakfast and continental offerings. Tim brought some sunshine to the otherwise overcast morning, with great service and entertaining morning conversation.nAll in all, a wonderful stay and would love to go back again soon. Highly recommended for anyone seeking to enjoy a bit of luxury and a hotel full of welcoming staff who were always a pleasure to speak to.
My partner and I stayed at the Southampton Harbour Hotel for a relaxing spa retreat. The rooms were perfect — modern, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with details that reflected the local community.nnThe Spa:nUnfortunately, the spa experience didn’t live up to expectations. It felt more like a glorified leisure centre than a dedicated hotel spa. Facilities were minimal compared to other Harbour Hotels, and children are allowed. We were unlucky enough to encounter multiple screaming children and dirty nappies left by the pool, which were not collected promptly by staff. Overflowing robe and towel bins added to the disappointing atmosphere. The spa also connects directly to the hotel gym, which is open to local residents, making it feel like a communal area rather than an exclusive spa as the website suggests.nnThe Restaurant:nService during lunch and dinner was inconsistent — we were forgotten about multiple times for basic things like menus, cutlery, and drinks, which meant we had to chase staff to actually eat. That said, the food itself was excellent across breakfast, lunch, and dinner — easily the best I’ve had in Southampton, and it really saved the restaurant experience.nnWe emailed the hotel detailing our experience and received a prompt, thoughtful response from the Director of Guest Experience, Xiaomin. She invited us for a conversation the following day to discuss the issues. She was incredibly receptive, explained what had gone wrong, and shared what steps would be taken to improve the experience for future guests. This level of care really made a difference and left us with a positive impression despite the initial disappointments.nnOverall, while the spa and service could be improved, the rooms, food, and responsive management made our stay worthwhile.
Just checked out of Habour Hotel Southampton. Would highly recommend.nWas sick with motion sickness on check in day and staff was kind and helped.nRoom very clean, modern and looks very new, making for a very comfortable stay while I recover.nHad breakfast this morning at the hotel cafe and staff were all very polite and breakfast delicious and done to a high standard.nAll in all a most enjoyable stay prior to boarding our cruise ship.
Went here for my works Christmas do. At first when entering the hotel I was very impressed, but once the food started coming out my opinion soon changed. The starter was ok but I chose Turkey for the main and it was awful. I’ve never had a roast like it there was hardly any gravy so the roast potatoes were impossible to swallow as it was so dry. I had to ask for more gravy. There was no salt and pepper on the table so a colleague had to ask for that also. The crackers were cheap and were collected and thrown away as soon as the table got up to dance.nFor £80 a head it was very disappointing and nobody on my table ate much at all. You get a better roast at Toby carvery!
