My friend and I had a great room, blackout curtains worked great, small balcony looked out to the sea, bathroom was clean and the overall decor was in line with the price.nThere is a very formal restaurant and a very cozy bar on the ground floor. The desserts in the bar are generally delicious, but a little too sweet for me as an East Asian. This only represents my personal taste.nAll the staff in the bar were very classy, elegant and friendly. This left a extremely good impression on me.nThe hotel also has a meeting room, a coffee bar and a swimming pool, as well as free luggage storage.nThere are a few points worth noting.nIf you want to check in early, it is possible under certain circumstances, but it will incur a small extra fee.nThe air conditioning in the room is not controlled by the controller in the room. If you feel the room is cold, you need to inform the front desk and they will increase the air conditioning temperature in your room.
I had a wonderful stay at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton. The hotel offers spacious and well-maintained rooms with all the essential amenities, making it a very comfortable experience. The service is exceptional, with the staff always willing to assist and ensure a pleasant stay.nnOne of the standout features is the free access to the jacuzzi, steam sauna, and swimming pool, which adds a touch of luxury to the experience. The hotel’s location is also a big plus—just a short walk from the town center, making it convenient for exploring Southampton.nnA special mention to Lisa from room service, who did an amazing job in keeping the rooms clean and well-maintained. She is incredibly kind, hardworking, and dedicated to her work, ensuring guests have a spotless and welcoming room every day.nnOverall, Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton is a fantastic choice for a comfortable and relaxing stay, with excellent service and great facilities. I highly recommend it!
Great deal for three nights. Excellent city centre location, plenty of parking, comfortable rooms, very good breakfast and huge bar! Staff were exceptional, restaurant were always moving/serving and the reception team were 5 Star - nice job Georgiana & team!nThe hotel needs a little investment and the pool facilities were very tired - come on Directors put some money in and get it back to the 90’s standard!
Close, walking distance to town centre. Amazing facilities including pool, sauna, jacuzzi, spa and bars/ restaurants. All well kept apart from they could be wiped more often so the pool area isn’t as slippery. Maybe more pool lighting in the evenings when it’s dark. General upkeep of ceilings and walls around hallways etc.nStaff were all welcoming and friendly. Fixed any issues that popped up. Hotel felt fancy and upmarket.nOnly issue was noisy sleep with water pipes, sounded like rushing water every now and then. But would go back!
I stayed at this hotel recently a business conference. The exterior of the building is quite unattractive, although inside the furnishings and presentation are very good. The room I was allocated was very spacious with a large double bed and a four piece ensuite bathroom suite. Room had lots of space and a private balcony. Unfortunately, the room was smelly when I arrived and I didn’t have time to raise this with the management because of a business meeting I had in the building. I raise this later on and the duty manager I believe his name is Andrew came to the room with a can of air freshener. This would’ve possibly mask the smell, but I did not want to be breathing in all of the fumes from that so I asked him not to spray it. The room kind of smelt of smelly feet and if they’d open the door and let it air for a period of time it probably would have gone away. Andrew went off and got another staff member. He said he couldn’t smell anything as I’d had the door open because I couldn’t stand the pong anymore. The Customer Service skills left a lot to be desired they were not very empathetic and didn’t offer me any options at all. I would’ve thought they would have offered to change the room, although I didn’t want to do that just because of the hassle. But they didn’t offer anything other than a very insincere apology in the whole vibe I got from them was that they just wanted to get away. I would recommend they both attend a Customer Service training course that may teach them better ways to pacify and reassure customers in these sort of situations. Aside from that experience the hotel is very clean and well presented and we enjoyed a dinner in the evening which was part of the large award evening that my company was hosting and the food was very good. The next morning I rose early and enjoyed the buffet breakfast that they put on display. This was actually excellent with a huge variety of options from cereals to yoghurts fresh meat smoothies, eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, freshly cooked mushrooms and more. One further small grip was that the presentation of the shower cubicle was quite poor with some badly finished repair jobs having been done to it. The rest of the bathroom to be fair was excellent. If you found this helpful, please give me a like and follow me and I will follow you back.
